(9 Customer Reviews)
L.A. Guns' most consistent and effective album, Cocked & Loaded manages to balance the underlying darkness of Guns N' Roses' urban outlook with Mötley Crüe's party-anthem glam metal. The songwriting is among their best; "Never Enough" was successful on MTV, and "The Ballad of Jayne," a tribute to actress Jayne Mansfield, was a Top 40 hit. ~ Steve Huey
Additional producers: Tom Werman, D. Baron, J. Prudell.
L A Guns Cocked & Loaded Songs Cocked & Loaded Music Review Average Rating: (4.6 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Their Best I've always been lukewarm on L.A. Guns's debut, and not a huge fan of the third album Hollywood Vampires either, but Cocked And Loaded is one of my very favorite albums from the late '80's sleaze-metal scene. The riffs are here, the hooks are here, the production doesn't sound like it was recorded in somebody's basement like the debut, it's just ALL HERE. The only song I don't really care for, aside from the instumental "I'm Addicted," is "Slap In The Face," and even then, it's not that bad. The band has a few other albums that are nice to have, and the debut does have some of their biggest fan-favorites, but overall, if you're just going to get one L.A. Guns album, it has to be this one. Submitted by Fizz (Delmarva) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.

Simply their best! All the songs are great! Lewis is good than ever! Their best album! Submitted by a reviewer (Dolbeau, que,Canada') Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
A good follow-up While this album doesn't have the power or raw energy of their debut, C&L is still a strong effort from L.A. Guns. The band writes excellent material like Rip And Tear, The Ballad Of Jayne, the ferocious Malaria, and Magdalaine. However, their are some not so good songs too, like 17 Crash and the abysmal I Want To Be Your Man, which lessen the album's quality. Also, the production is somewhat too glossy and pop (some of the songs would have sounded better with the debut's sound), and two short guitar solo instrumentals are unneccessary. Still, a great hair metal album which is a great buy for any fan. Submitted by mcsavage (Pittsburgh, PA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

| | Ozzy Osbourne Ozzmosis CD (1995) Remastered
Cocked & Loaded album
$7.59 Let us all be thankful that Ozzy's retirement didn't stick. It supposedly lasted for three days, after which he got bored and started working on this project. Heavy, riff-intensive tunes, progressive song structures and a little psychedelia give OZZMOSIS a definite Sabbath flavor. Ozzy must have been in touch with whatever inspired early classics like PARANOID and MASTERS OF REALITY. Witness the extremely chunky "Thunder Underground," which can stand up next to "Sweet Leaf" and "Symptom Of The Universe" as an archetype ...

| | DSR & Big Wheels of Texas Texxas Heat Reloaded CD (2005)
Cocked & Loaded songs
$13.69 Over the years, the great state of Texas has given us some of the most dynamic hip hop the world has ever known. It is the land that gave us legendary artists such as the Geto Boys, UGK and, most recently, Lil Flip. Now, there are new names to add to this impressive list of Lone Star State all stars- a six-man unit out of Dallas who call themselves the Dirty South Rydaz.Composed of six of the State's best-known lyricists, Tum-Tum, Big Tuck, Fat Bastard, Double T, Lil Ronnie and Addiction come off like a Southern version of the Wu Tang Clan. Like the Wu, each of the members of Dirty South Rydaz are solo artists who, on their own, are fearsome MCs capable of holding their own on anybody's microphone. But when they come together, they are absolutely unbeatable. DSR is real unique, explains Fat Bastard. Everybody hits the mic with something different. When we all combine it, people be like maaaan!!! When you buy a CD and listen to our lyrics, you gone hear something you ain't never heard before. And you can relate to it. DSR started out as six childhood friends who shared their love for rap music by freestyling to beats. According to Tum Tum, the six ran together on weekends, doing everything from chasing skirts and cracking brews to listening to their favorite rap artists. We crashed a lot of parties, recalls Tum Tum. We was on the wild side. Raised on a steady musical diet of Geto Boys, UGK, Swisha House and the legendary Screwed Up Click, it was inevitable that the six pack of emcees would start to rhyme amongst themselves. After a few years of building their confidence, they recorded a demo tape in a rinky dink studio. Excited by how good they sounded on tape, they took the demo to George Lopez, CEO of T-Town Music, to get his feedback. The owner of the most popular record store in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth area, Lopez had ...
