Very Best of the Righteous Brothers: Unchained Melody album for sale Product Description
Very Best of the Righteous Brothers: Unchained Melody album for sale by Righteous Brothers was released Dec 29, 1990 on the Polydor label. Though any mention of the Righteous Brothers immediately conjures up the strains of "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" and "Unchained Melody" (usually in that order), the duo also released many other fine singles during the 1960s. This 12-track collection, issued on Verve (a label primarily known for jazz), begins with the two aforementioned runaway hits, and then moves into less familiar, but no-less charming territory, with producer Phil Spector providing his larger-than-life "wall of sound" production to some of the other songs, including the lush "Ebb Tide." While the pair (Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield) is capable of surprisingly gritty tunes (see the raucous "Little Latin Lupe Lu"), the Californian blue-eyed-soul act is most at home applying its gorgeous baritone/falsetto harmonies to songs of unbridled emotion such as "Soul and Inspiration" and "See That Girl." With the exception of the Righteous Brothers' most faithful fans, most listeners will get a satisfying dose of the twosome's passionate pop on this concise compilation. Very Best of the Righteous Brothers: Unchained Melody CD music contains a single disc with 12 songs. ...See Full Description

Only Doo-Wop Collection You'll Ever Need CDs (2005) Top Seller
Very Best of the Righteous Brothers: Unchained Melody buy CD music Don't let the title fool you; after listening to The Only Doo-Wop Collection You'll Ever Need, you'll definitely want more. This is a good starting point for the curious, since all the basics are here in the original hit versions: "The Great Pretender," "Earth Angel," "I Only Have Eyes for You," "Goodnight Sweetheart, Goodnight," and, thrown in for good measure, a few tracks that even vocal group scholars wouldn't mind hearing again by the Marvelows, the Duprees, the Jive Five, and the Earls. While this is an excellent primer, the best representation of vocal group harmonies of the era remains the lavish (and pricey) 101-track Doo Wop Box on Rhino. ~ Al Campbell

Pure 60's: The #1 Hits CD (2002) Top Seller
Very Best of the Righteous Brothers: Unchained Melody songs This compilation is just what it says: number one hits on the American charts from the 1960s. It has a leg up on some similar anthologies, though, by virtue of its sheer quantity: 26 songs spanning the entire decade, which is pretty good value for a single CD. While it's true the selection is a little arbitrary, on the whole it's really good, and whether you care about chart statistics or not, it's an excellent disc if you're looking for an all-purpose collection of 1960s pop/rock classics. There are many core classics here, spanning rock, soul, pop, and the British Invasion: the Beach Boys' "Good Vibrations," Del Shannon's "Runaway," the Marvelettes' "Please Mr. Postman," Martha & the Vandellas' "(Love Is Like A) Heat Wave," Manfred Mann's "Do Wah Diddy Diddy," the Mamas & the Papas' "Monday, Monday," the Lovin' Spoonful's "Summer in the City," the Box Tops' "The Letter," the Troggs' "Wild Thing," the Temptations' "My Girl," and Marvin Gaye's "I Heard It Through the Grapevine." Actually, if there's one complaint, it's that British artists are only represented by those Manfred Mann and Troggs cuts. But even the less-critically canonized, poppy hits here are for the most part indisputable classics: the Turtles' "Happy Together," Tommy James & the Shondells' "Crimson and Clover," the Monkees' "I'm a Believer," the Strawberry Alarm Clock's "Incense and Peppermints," the Association's "Windy," Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe," and more. It's like a double-dozen dose of number one hits from oldies stations without the commercials or any of the clunkers that happened to reach number one by chance. ~ Richie Unterberger
Recorded between 1961 & 1969.

Vogues Greatest Hits CD (1988) Top Seller
Very Best of the Righteous Brothers: Unchained Melody buy CD music A doo wop vocal group from the Pittsburgh area, the Vogues started well in the mid-'60s with "You're the One," an infectious bit of folk-rock with enough of a British Invasion feel to earn it heavy play on AM radio. "Five O'Clock World" was an even better single, a two-minute blast of timeless release, chronicling the feel of getting off work with the whole night still ahead, that one instant when everything is a possibility and the future has not yet arrived with its schedule of deadlines and pressures. Few pop songs have ever caught that moment with more élan or conviction. Unfortunately "Five O'Clock World" was to be a high-water mark for the Vogues, and although they enjoyed more chart success during the 1960s, particularly with their biggest seller, the ultraromantic "No, Not Much," they never really built a distinctive body of work. This set from Rhino combines their early singles for Co & Ce Records with the later work from Warner Brothers Records in an effective overview of the band's history. It's the best single disc of the Vogues out there, and really has everything you need, including that little miracle of a song, "Five O'Clock World." ~ Steve Leggett

Drifters Very Best of the Drifters CD (1993)
Very Best of the Righteous Brothers: Unchained Melody songs THE VERY BEST OF THE DRIFTERS features 16 tracks recorded between 1959 and 1964. Includes historic black and white photographs and liner notes by Steve Propes.
THE VERY BEST is a definitive anthology of the Drifters' most fertile and commercially successful period (1959-64), after their initial early '50s rock hits with lead vocalist Clyde McPhatter. During this period, the group was essentially the mouthpiece for the boundless imagination of the greatest of the Brill Building songwriters.
As a result, what you'll find here are such classics as " Up on the Roof", Gerry Goffin and Carole King's gorgeously romantic ode to working class escape and freedom, along with a virtual embarrassment of riches. These include timeless, often-covered songs by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weill ("On Broadway" "Saturday Night at the Movies"), Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman ("Sweets for My Sweet," "This Magic Moment," "Save the Last Dance for Me", "I Count the Tears"), and Burt Bacharach ("Please Stay").
Additional personnel includes: Billy Davis, Phil Spector (guitar); Dee Dee Warwick, Dionne Warwick, Doris Troy, Cissy Houston (background vocals).
Producers: Mike Stoller, Jerry Leiber, Tom Dowd, Bert Burns
Compilation producer: Gary Stewart.
The Drifters: Bobby Hendricks, Ben E. King, Johnny Lee Willimas, Rudy Lewis, Johnny Moore, Charles Thomas, Doc Green, Eugene Pearson, Elesbeary Hobbs, Tommy Evans (vocals).
