Angst In My Pants album for sale Product Description
Angst In My Pants album for sale by Sparks was released Aug 14, 2006 on the Oglio label. Possibly the best album in Sparks' long and varied career, ANGST IN MY PANTS is also a perfect example of American synth-pop at its most musically and lyrically creative. From the gently throbbing title track through to the completely bizarre, pounding "Eaten By The Monster Of Love," every tune is a perfect marriage of amazingly catchy keyboard-dominated pop and surreal, almost Dadaist lyrics. Angst In My Pants CD music contains a single disc with 11 songs. ...See Full Description

Too funny Had this one on tape years ago (read: 15)so i was a little anxious as how i would like it today. Still funny lyrics - just listen to "Nicotina", "Tarzan and Jane" and "Micky Mouse" - even my son at 8 thinks its funny (doesn´t know english yet". Togehter with catchy tunes this will be one of those rare records in my collection (as with DEVO) you just have to listen to sometimes when all the moderne music just gets TOO MUCH. Can´t belive some of there stuff hasn´t been sampled yet. By Peter (Copenhagen, Denmark)
Power Pop Regarded by many critics as a favorite because of the return of the SPARKS power pop sound. This exact return is why I must deem the same album somewhat of a letdown. ANGST IN MY PANTS returns to the familiar SPARKS poprock sound... voices more forward in the mix, punchier guitar and rock beat drums. The return of that "sound"comes at the expense of the synths and electroloops that Sparks was so good at creating. The album was released in'82. The single they hoped would bring attention to the album was track #2 I PREDICT. A poor choice to break out the album, the song is far to clever for pop radio, thus it dissapeared as quickly as it was released. Another attempt at selling the album was the placement of track #11 EATEN BY THE MONSTER OF LOVE in the motion picture VALLEY GIRL soundtrack, again that went unoticed. Critics loved the rock n roll sound of the album, a return to what critics liked about them, for me...it was the displacement of the synth machines and sequencers to second fiddle status that nets this SPARKS album a 3 star rating. The album does have several standout tracks(as every SPARKS album is sure too have) Track #1 ANGST IN MY PANTS,Track #7 MOUSTACHE,Track #11 EATEN BY THE MONSTER OF LOVE. All songs lean on the powerpop guitar, rockdrum beat philosophy,if you play the last minute of mustache to todays teen you would have many responding it sounds like SUM 41 or BLINK 182,and indeed it does. Oddly enough my favorite track of the album, Track #10 THE DECLINE AND FALL OF ME, is devoid of all the things that I love about SPARKS(synths, sequencers, loops)but in its place, here is a tremendous hammer to nail popsong, crusing along to heavy heavy back beat, with production on cymbals and snare that hits home the impact and immediateness of the tune. Over all, what a educated reviewer would praise as a great album, is one from SPARKS that I will regulate to the 3 star bin. By iamkraut (Edmonton,AB,CANADA)
Great Little Album This album is a lot of fun and begs repeated listenings. 'Moustache' is a great pop song (Hey, the lyrics aren't Proust, but who cares?). Strong from start to finish. I admit I took a chance on this one, not being overly familiar with the band, but I am very happy with it. By JD (Payson, AZ)
