Jubes album
$8.45 THE VERY BEST OF THE DRIFTERS features 16 tracks recorded between 1959 and 1964. Includes historic black and white photographs and liner notes by Steve Propes.
THE VERY BEST is a definitive anthology of the Drifters' most fertile and commercially successful period (1959-64), after their initial early '50s rock hits with lead vocalist Clyde McPhatter. During this period, the group was essentially the mouthpiece for the boundless imagination of the greatest of the Brill Building songwriters.
As a result, what you'll find here are such classics as " Up on the Roof", Gerry Goffin and Carole King's gorgeously romantic ode to working class escape and freedom, along with a virtual embarrassment of riches. These include timeless, often-covered songs by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weill ("On Broadway" "Saturday Night at the Movies"), Doc ...
| | Notorious B I G Ready To Die CD (1994) With DVD; Reissue; Remastered
Jubes CD music
$12.65 Blowin' up the charts using his knowledge of the streets and hard bangin' snares provided by producer Easy Mo Bee, the Bedford-Stuyvesant native Notorious B.I.G. is far from "Ready To Die." Not since the likes of Slick Rick has there been an artist so successful in the storytelling genre of rap music, creating a mental picture of life in the heads of his listeners. The up-tempo "Gimme The Loot" illustrates the hustlin' ways of a trigger-happy robbery expert stressed from the "Everyday Struggle" of life. The recurrence of the Isley Brothers tune "Between The Sheets" adds to the charm of "Big Poppa," where Biggie portrays his "player" image. No need to skip any songs, READY TO DIE is packed with hits all the way through.
Once he stepped out onto the scene as the rapper on the remix of Mary J. Blige's hit single "Real Love," many hip-hop fanatics anxiously awaited the debut of The Notorious B.I.G. a.k.a. Biggie Smalls. Their prayers were answered with READY TO DIE, fifteen tracks of uncut, hard-core, lyrically sophisticated rap all complemented by hypnotic beats supplied by the underground's most prominent producers. READY TO DIE resumes ...
| | Silky Soul Music: An All-Star Tribute To Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly CD (2009)
Jubes music CDs
$11.65 A San Francisco-based smooth R&B act with roots in Philadelphia soul, Maze (usually billed as Maze featuring Frankie Beverly) never managed to break with a larger mainstream audience during their late-`70s to early `80s peak, but nevertheless garnered a devoted following in urban radio as one of the progenitors of the romantic, understated style known as "quiet storm." And the group's jazz-funk sophistication can certainly be felt in contemporary R&B and neo-soul ...

| | Michael Jackson Bad CD (1987) Bonus Tracks; Remastered; Special Edition
Jubes album
$7.59 Digitally remastered by Bernie Grundman (Bernie Grundman Mastering, Los Angeles, California).
Jackson's domination of the world record market continued following Thriller, although by comparison it was an almighty flop with only 12 million sales. As Pink Floyd and Dire Straits have proved, one album can go completely sales haywire without necessarily being any better. The title track and the gorgeous "Man In The Mirror" were substantial hits, but quality material such as "Dirty Diana" and "Liberian Girl" bolster a strong album. Jackson also seemed to have found the romance he seeks in "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" and "The Way You Make Me Feel." Regardless of his press, history clearly shows that he has made a lot of people very, very happy.
Additional Tracks
Recorded at Westlake Audio Studios, Los Angeles, California. Originally released on Epic (40600).
Personnel includes: Michael Jackson (vocals); Stevie Wonder (vocals, keyboards); The Winans (vocals); David Williams, ...
| | Tech N9ne K.O.D. CD (2009) Digipak
Jubes CD music
$15.65 As an acolyte of horrorcore, a rap micro genre adorned with grisly lyrics and macabre themes, Tech N9ne is one of the more controversial and misunderstood figures in hip-hop music. Coming off the heels of his second album of collaborations, the early 2009-release SICKOLOGY ...
| | Spike Robinson At Chesters Vol. 1 CD (1984) (Import) Ireland
Jubes music CDs
$15.95 Tenor saxophonist Spike Robinson made his first trip to England after 33 years in 1984, just three years after he started to become well-known due to his first LP. Two live CDs were cut for the Hep label, and they feature Spike sounding pretty close tonewise to Stan Getz. Assisted by the excellent but underrated pianist ...
| | Randy Travis Forever & Ever CD (1995) (Import) England; France; Greatest Hits
Jubes songs
$22.35 Country-music star Randy Travis has been considered on the of the most influential acts of the genre since his '80s heyday. This greatest-hits collection includes his first hit, "On the Other Hand," as well as other classics such as "If I Didn't Have You" and "Forever and Ever, Amen."
Before the rise of the so-called "hat acts" in the 1990s and the sleek country pop/rock of the early 21st century, and directly in the wake of the Urban Cowboy backwash, there was Randy Travis, who broke onto the country music scene in 1986 without even a thought of chasing after a crossover radio hit. Labeled a new traditionalist, Travis delivered his songs simple and straight, and never leaned on a hat or a big belt buckle to drive his roots home. This set covers his biggest hits from his Warner Brothers years, and includes the elegant and calm "If I Didn't Have You," the artful regret of "1982," the lightly rocking and wryly humorous "Before You Kill Us All," and the gentle, stripped down Western ...
| | Tribute To Aaliyah CD (2002)
Jubes album
$10.55 In August of 2001, promising young singer Aaliyah (full name Aaliyah Dana Haughton) was killed when the small plane carrying her and her crew back to the U.S. from a video shoot in the Bahamas crashed. She was only 22. At the time of her death, Aaliyah had already found stardom as a talented and beautiful pop star, and was making her first forays into acting with a prominent role in Matrix sequels. Given such a sad story, this tribute to the singer is certainly deserved. However, the 12 versions of her songs performed here by the United ...
