| | New York Thrash CD
Recorded between 1978 and 1982. Includes liner notes by Tim Sommer.
A classic collection of many hardcore bands from New York, who influenced a lot of metal bands to incorporate punk into their sound. It features music from Bad Brains, Beastie Boys, Adrenalin O.D., Nihilistics, and False Prophets. ~ John Book
In 1982, at the suggestion of the then Bad Brains manager, the late Dave Hahn, ROIR agreed for Hahn to executive produce and curate a compilation of the hottest young bands from the thriving NYC "thrash" scene. This compilation, New York Thrash, has become the most definitive thrash statement ever assembled and is today recognized as the "hallmark" for all thrash compilations. From the Liner Notes by Tim Sommers (1982):"What you hear on this cassette documents the change that came about that shook the ossified New York scene to its very foundation. By 1981 New York had developed one of the best REAL punk scenes in the whole country - and hopefully this tape can finally prove it to those who weren't here to see it and still won't believe it. New York Punk/Hardcore was honest, truly unique - and it fucking kicked, kicked down the doors and the discos and the trendies - and it was real in a way that will never, never tarnish.""The best value - and most eagerly awaited tape from ROIR is the eleven band , 22 song 'New York Thrash' compilation which documents the New York hardcore scene. Genuine, and genuinely exciting! For sure, try to lay your hands on New York Thrash." - New Musical Express (Cynthia Rose)

New York Thrash album
$10.19 Principally recorded at The Theater Studio & Mindswerve, New York, New York.
Mindless Self Indulgence's brilliantly named The Frankenstein Girls Will Seem Strangely Sexy collects more of the group's outré, hip-hop-tinged industrial thrash. Singer Urine's bizarre falsetto sounds like a sped-up Jello ...

New York Thrash songs
$9.79 This is a collection of NOFX tracks from various compilations, 7"s and EPs, plus a previously unreleased song and dub remix.
NOFX are masters of the punk ethic of self-deprecation, and it begs the question if they truly realize the mark they have made on the history of modern hardcore. After 18 years, the band that sums up its musical prowess humbly as "good," releases a staggering collection of B-sides, compilation tracks, and rare cuts (many of which were previously long out-of-print in their original 7" pressings).
A cover of the Seymour Simons standard "All Of Me" sets the tone for this collection, and boasts ...
| | Easy Star All-Stars Dub Side Of The Moon CD (2003)
New York Thrash album
$10.99 The pun in the title gives the album's conceit away: This is, in fact, a dub-influenced take on Pink Floyd's classic DARK SIDE OF THE MOON. But while the idea may be groan-inducing, the results are actually quite appealing. All-Star founders Michael G. and Ticklah recruit a handful of guests, including Corey Harris, the Meditations, and Frankie Paul, among others, to turn Floyd's spacey, art-rock epic into a heavy-lidded roots excursion, incorporating rap, dancehall, IDM, and jungle rhythms. The deeply ingrained ...

New York Thrash album
$15.99 Along with its predecessor, Pink Bubbles Go Ape, Chameleon marked a period of personal turmoil and professional miscalculations for Helloween. The final recording to feature golden-era vocalist Michael Kiske, this 1996 recording wasn't even released in the U.S. and only served to confuse fans where it was available. While the group intelligently toned down the unexplainable attempts at humor featured on their previous recording, they still were intent on expanding their stylistic and textural boundaries. This just ...
