REVOLUTION is an enhanced CD which contains multimedia programs accessible with a CD-ROM drive in addition to a full audio program playable on normal CD players.
Principally recorded at De La Casa Studios, Las Vegas, Nevada.
Slaughter's 1995 FEAR NO EVIL showed that the band had much more substance than your average pop metal band of the early '90s, as it spiked its arena rock with unexpected twists and turns. On its 1997 follow up, REVOLUTION, the band takes a cue from a track on its previous release, "It'll Be Alright," and explores its Beatles fixation more freely.
A retro/psychedelic vibe permeates the album, clearly evident on such highlights as "American Pie" and the long and winding epic "Heaven it Cries." But Slaughter didn't completely turn its back on its previous direction, as evidenced by such tracks as the ballad "Can We Find a Way," and the rocking title track. Sadly, REVOLUTION would be the last studio album that guitarist Tim Kelly would appear on before his untimely death a year later.
Slaughter: Mark Slaughter (vocals, guitar, keyboards); Tim Kelly (guitra, background vocals); Dana Strum (bass, background vocals); Blas Elias (drums, percussion, background vocals).
This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. | | Ozzy Osbourne Ozzmosis CD (1995) Remastered
Revolution album
$7.59 Let us all be thankful that Ozzy's retirement didn't stick. It supposedly lasted for three days, after which he got bored and started working on this project. Heavy, riff-intensive tunes, progressive song structures and a little psychedelia give OZZMOSIS a definite Sabbath flavor. Ozzy must have been in touch with whatever inspired early classics like PARANOID and MASTERS OF REALITY. Witness the extremely chunky "Thunder Underground," which can stand up next to "Sweet Leaf" and "Symptom Of The Universe" as an archetype of hard rock. The trippy guitar in "Ghost Behind My Eyes" and "Denial" are not some young Ozzy-wannabe going for a retro sound--this man was there, "Planet Caravan"ing.
Still, this heavy metal daddy in touch with his roots is also hip to the genre's latest sound. OZZMOSIS has a live, up-front feeling, thanks to producer Michael Beinhorn (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden). Zakk Wylde's huge, raw guitar also plays a major ...

| | Beyond Twilight Section X CD (2005)
Revolution album
$15.09 REVIEW 1There are some artists whose upcoming releases always intrigue me, and Beyond Twilight belongs to that category although they have only released one album until now. Section X is the second Beyond Twilight album, and it introduces us a new singer - instead of the speculated Russell Allen, Kelly Sundown Carpenter (Outworld) steps into Jörn Lande's shoes. Already from the beginning of the album, it becomes clear that Carpenter is a great substitute for Lande. He has ear for freaky yet catchy vocal lines in addition to his strong soaring voice, which is occasionally even reminiscent to that of Jörn Lande's. The line-up on this album also features the well-known Danish producer Jacob Hansen (Invocator) playing the rhythm guitar. The music of Beyond Twilight is dark, atmospheric metal with some progressive elements thrown in as well. Especially one of Beyond Twilight's strengths is their "signature" sound, which is based on Zierler's evocative synth work and the guitarists' melodically haunting riffs. As always Finn Zierler decided to write this album in total solitude... however, this time he sought inspiration from various locations: partly he was locked in an attic, submerged under water and living on the dark streets of London. This journey was well worth the trouble, since Zierler has come up with yet again weird scinematic metal album that keeps the listener interested throughout the whole album. Production on Section X is rather good. The album was mixed at Jailhouse Studios by Finn Zierler and Tommy Hansen. The sounds are suitably atmospheric yet there's also some raw power present on the mix. The only complaints regarding production concern the small background distortion which is occasionally audible. Section X is definitely album worth checking out in case you've listened to Beyond Twilight or Twilight in the past or you're a fan of this specific genre. Actually this is thinking man's metal, so I challenge you to give this album a listen and see if it's for you.TAKEN FROM ROCK REVIEWS-----------REVIEW 2Section X is a concept album, the story of which is summarised at the band's website. Although I am not into concept albums that much anymore since King Diamond's Abigail (still the queen of all concept albums), the dark and slightly futuristic music gives you immediately the impression what this is all about. Beginning with cyberpunkish intro Be Careful, It's My Head Too, we see instantly that this is not your average happy-go-lucky power metal album. The Path Of Darkness, the first regular song, is very dramatic, with a strong sense of gloominess, due to the talents of all six band members involved. Even though Finn Zierler, Danish keyboard virtuoso, is responsible for the song writing, he never overdoes it (except in the short but astonishing instrumental Portrait In Dark Waters) and leaves enough space for new American vocalist Kelly ...

| | Samamidon But This Chicken Prove False CD (2007)
Revolution songs
$9.05 As Samamidon, bandmates Thomas Bartlett and Sam Amidon break away from the sweet indie pop of their Doveman work and instead explore traditional folk. On their debut, But This Chicken Proved Falsehearted, a sad, pretty record that moves effortlessly from slow indie rock to folk , they cover old field songs -- as well as a Tears for Fears track, "Head Over Heels" -- with a touching sensitivity. Sometimes, the duo sticks more closely to the original arrangement and instrumentation, with the necessary emphatic banjos, picked acoustic guitars, and twanged vocals, like on the rollicking "Rocky Island," the broken love of "Falsehearted Chicken," or the bluesy "Another Man Done Gone" (which Johnny Cash performed a cappella), but more often, they add instruments -- Wurlitzer, electric guitar, organ, accordion -- to give a fuller, more contemporary, and often more melancholic sound to the pieces. While the Mississippi John Hurt cover, "Louis Collins," is certainly sad when played by the bluesman on his acoustic guitar, Amidon, who does all the singing ...
