1995's SACRIFICE silenced any doubts that that Motorhead would mellow in their old age. After a brief, unsatisfactory tenure with a major label, Motorhead returned to an independent record company, CMC International, which was custom-built for elderly rockers.
With alternative rock ruling the media, charts, and airwaves by the mid-1990s, Motorhead yet again refused to follow trends and stuck to their guns, issuing yet another set of turbo charged originals. You know what you're in for with such song titles as "War for War," "Sex and Death," "All Gone to Hell," and the album-opening title track. SACRIFICE proved once and for all that, like the cockroach, Motorhead could survive just about anything--famine, pestilence, line-up juggling, and switching record labels.
Recorded at Cherokee Studios, Hollywood, California.
Motorhead: Lemmy Kilmister (vocals, bass); Phil "The Zoomster" Campbell (guitar); Mikkey Dee (drums).
Additional personnel: Bill Bergman (saxophone); John Paroulo (piano).
Motorhead Sacrifice Songs Sacrifice Music Review Average Rating: (4.7 out of 5 stars) What more can you ask for? This is classic motorhead as its best, people keeps praising "ace of spades", "overkill" which are excellent albums of course, but this same people oversees most of the 90's motorhead releases ignoring what they are missing.Every song here is solid in music & lirics, no weak points, just pounding & raw rockn´roll-.
Listen well, Lemmy, M Dee & Phil will never let you down! try to understand the next equation MOTORHEAD = ROCK N'ROLL.
This is an universal truth! Submitted by a reviewer (miami, FL, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Solid but short. Great album-love every track on it.
The only problem is it's only 36 minutes long-so you just get into it and it ends.
Still a must-have for any serious metal fan though. If you've never heard Motorhead before this would be a good place to start. Submitted by Mark. (New York, U.S.A) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Sarifice? When you drink with the Devil, why would you ever need to give a Sacrifice? That one, I'll ask Lemmy in Hell, until then, I'll listen to this CD.-O Submitted by a reviewer (Sarnia, ON.) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

| | We Are Motorhead CD (2000)
Sacrifice music CDs
$10.15 On hearing the first few measures of "See Me Burning" on Motorhead's latest WE ARE MOTORHEAD, it's easy to see how bands such as Metallica and Slayer can trace their roots back to the second wave of British metal. The image of vocalist/bassist Lemmy Kilmister craning his neck skyward to reach his microphone is one that every hard rock fan or casual observer knows well. Much like AC/DC, Motorhead has never tried to change its sound to adapt to musical trends; the album's title almost suggests a ...
| | Motorhead Another Perfect Day CD (1983) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Sacrifice songs
$9.99 When it became known that "Fast" Eddie Clarke had split from Motorhead, heavy metal fans feared the end of this hard-living trio. But when it was announced that ex-Thin Lizzy guitarist Brian Robertson was joining drummer Phil Taylor and bassist/lead growler Lemmy, another typically styled Motorhead release could have understandably been anticipated.
However, while 1983's ANOTHER PERFECT DAY was still unmistakably a Motorhead album, Robertson brought in with him some musical elements that caused quite a bit of controversy amongst longtime fans--most notably the subtle use of synthesizers. Still, such furious tracks as "Shine" and "Dancing on Your Grave" showed that this new line-up held promise. But ANOTHER PERFECT DAY would be the only Motorhead release to feature Robertson, as he exited after the subsequent tour (as did longtime drummer Taylor), leaving Lemmy the lone ...
| | Motorhead Hammered CD (2002)
Sacrifice album
$9.99 Unlike many of the band's contemporaries, Motörhead manages to still release lean and mean rock records, while keeping the songs simple rather than adding some electronic accompaniment or trying to be current or hip. Many of the other bands from Motörhead's era might still be worth checking out live (Iron Maiden, AC/DC), ...
| | Motorhead Inferno CD (2004) Enhanced CD
Sacrifice CD music
$9.99 The more things change, the more Lemmy stays the same. He is a pillar of stability in the wobbly world of metal, where bands and trends come and go. Almost every Motorhead album sounds like the last, albeit with a couple new twists thrown in. And that's not a bad thing. Indeed, this 2004 platter serves up the expected blend of thrashers, mid-tempo grinders, and amped-up, old-time rock & roll, but INFERNO feels like the group's spark has been rekindled.
The most obvious ...

| | Foo Fighters One By One CD (2002) (Import) Bonus Tracks; Germany; Limited Edition
Sacrifice album
$20.99 ONE BY ONE won the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Rock Album. "Times Like These" was nominated for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal. "All My Life" won the 2003 Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance. "All My Life" was nominated for the 2003 Grammy Award for Best Rock Song.
This limited edition of the 2002 release features six bonus tracks: "Walking a Line," "Sister Europe," "Danny Says," "Life of Illusion," "For all the Cows" (Live), and "Monkey Wrench" (Live).
In between manning drums for the Queens Of The Stone Age album SONGS FOR THE DEAF and the 2003 all-star death metal side-project Probot, Dave Grohl turned out ONE BY ONE, the Foo Fighters' fourth studio outing. With the Foo's line-up remaining intact for the second consecutive album, Grohl's posse set about sanding down the lighter, pop-inflected nuances of the album's predecessor THERE IS NOTHING LEFT TO LOSE. From the opening cut/lead single "All My Life," the Foo Fighters serve notice that amps are cranked and guitars are far beyond being set on stun. This intense outpouring of energy manifests itself well on the simmering tension of "Low," buzzing melodicism of "Times Like These (One-Way Motorway)," and the drill-press relentlessness of "Have It All."
Taking a page from the book of his former group Nirvana, Grohl has fun playing ...

Sacrifice CD music
$11.79 Koch's 2005 release A Family Affair is not strictly a Carl Butler compilation.
