| Great !!! Bob Marley: The Complete Wailers 1967-1972 Part I buy CD music It was great from begining to end, sound quality was alright, and the booklets of course to me the second best part of the collection was great and found out that they had to omit some songs cause of some legal complications, but seeing how I had a CD burner I decided to fix that (those songs are on the Songs of Freedom Box Set) but great value and price. Pinchers Dancehall Classics CDs (2000)
Bob Marley: The Complete Wailers 1967-1972 Part I album for sale Pinchers is a criminally underrated dancehall singer, one who specializes in a gentle and understated style that often stands in stark contrast to the driving digital rhythms provided by the various producers with whom he's worked since the late 1980s. Dancehall Classics is just about as good an introduction to his art as you could ask for, consisting of most of the tracks from his excellent Agony album and a handful of other King Jammy productions. A couple of selections are combination tracks; the better of the two, "Riding West," features the DJ Bounty Killer, whose gruff toasting is a highly effective foil for Pinchers' crooning tenor voice. Other highlights include the massive hits "Bandelero" and "Agony," as well as the dancehall boast "I'm a Don." The rhythms, provided by a wide selection of Kingston's studio aristocracy, are consistently top-notch. Highly recommended. ~ Rick Anderson

Mackie Ranks Lick Out CD
Bob Marley: The Complete Wailers 1967-1972 Part I CD music Nice and noisy D.J. Dancehall reggae this is, satisfying both my wanna-dance and need-that-punk-edge leanings. I hear faint sounds of ska and soca in there somewhere, but most powerful are the life and spirit that Ranks breathes into the overall sound of his music. "Brand New Year," a cut with a great tabla drum sound, is creme of the crop . ~ Raissa St. Pierre, Original Music

Cocoa Tea Sweet Love CD (1994)
Bob Marley: The Complete Wailers 1967-1972 Part I songs One of the few vocalists to transition successfully to reggae's digital age, Cocoa Tea's career took off during the height of the roots era. Possessing a smooth, laidback style that would fit into any period of Jamaican music, his early tunes for producer Henry "Junjo" Lawes set him apart from the more brash stylings of his peers. THE SWEET SOUND OF COCOA TEA, a career spanning two-CD set, features many of his biggest hits, from early lovers rock anthems, to forays into socially conscious digital dancehall.

Count Basie Basie in Europe CD (1977)
Bob Marley: The Complete Wailers 1967-1972 Part I album for sale The bad part about this ultra-budget CD ($5 list) is that, absent an intimate knowledge of personnel in the Basie band, you have to buy it and open it up to discover that it's from a 1977 gig in Nice, France, which is fairly late in the game. The good part is that the performance is not only a fine one, but the recording is fine too -- some of the balances are a little off (John Duke's bass is a tiny bit too prominent in the mix, but Butch Miles' drumming is right where it should be), but otherwise this is a superb representation of Basie's gloriously long Indian summer. The identical release to the out-of-print LRC label disc, but even lower-priced. ~ Bruce Eder
Recorded in Nice, France in 1977.
Personnel: Count Basie (piano); Booby Plater, Danny Turner (alto saxophone); Jimmy Forrest, Eric Dixon (tenor saxophone); Charles Fowlkes (baritone saxophone); Clark Terry (trumpet, flugelhorn); Waymon Reed, Sonny Cohn, Bobby Mitchell, Lyn Biviano (trumpet); Mel Wanzo, Bill Hughes, Al Grey, Dennis Wilson (trombone); Freddie Green (guitar); John Duke (bass); Butch Miles (drums).
