Sheshbesh album
$15.15 Celtic Woman, initially a one-shot collaboration by six leading Irish vocalists for a 2004 PBS special, struck a chord of adoration for the Emerald Isle, a fancy affecting both sides of the Atlantic, and swiftly became a permanent collective. THE GREATEST JOURNEY captures many of the best moments of elegant harmonizing by the act, from their serene and rapturous take on Enya's "Orinoco Flow" to the mournful yet poppily uplifting indigenous folk of "You Raise Me Up."
Import pressing includes two bonus tracks, Mo Ghile Mear (Live From Slane Castle) and Spanish Lady (Live From Slane Castle). Since their beginning in 2005, Irish vocal phenomenon Celtic Woman have sold 4 million units worldwide and occupied the #1 spot on the Billboard World Music Chart for a record-breaking 90 consecutive weeks. The Greatest Journey: Essential Collection represents the band's first Best Of collection and includes four new songs ('The Call', 'Pie Jesu', 'Ave Maria' and 'You Raise Me Up') as well as two songs previously unreleased on CD ('Somewhere' and 'Shenandoah'). | | Voice Of The Sparrow: Very Best Of Edith Piaf CD (1991)
Sheshbesh songs
$9.15 Also available as part of the Delta 2-CD set THE BEST OF EDITH PIAF.
A very strong best-of collection, VOICE OF THE SPARROW's title is a reference to Edith Piaf's widely used moniker "the Little Sparrow." And it's an apt moniker at that: Piaf was petite, and--in a life filled with tragedy--seemingly vulnerable, yet her song was strong and assured, transcending nations and time. With her heavy vibrato, pure tone, and emotionally intense delivery, Piaf would influence nearly every French chansonnier who followed in her wake
The lack of liner notes is this compilation's only drawback: a figure of Piaf's stature deserves the proper historical and artistic context. Yet it's hard to argue with the selection of songs here, which includes classics like "La Vie, L'Amour," "Milord," ...
| | Clannad 2 CD (1974)
Sheshbesh album
$15.39 Although best known in the US for their later music, which combined Celtic roots with new age and pop influences, the Irish sibling group Clannad started as a traditional Irish folk group. Indeed, all but three tracks on the group's second album, from 1974, are in Gaelic. The acoustic instrumentation, heavy on the harp and pennywhistle, is lovely but unobtrusive, so that all the focus is on lead singer Maire Brennan's astounding voice.
Every bit as elastic as that of her youngest sister Enya, who would go on to worldwide stardom after a brief early '80s stint in the family business, but much more assertive and less breathy, Maire's voice is one of the most stunning instruments in Celtic music, and it's heard to its best advantage on this album. Later records would sometime overpower the vocals with atmosphere, but CLANNAD TWO, while delicate and lovely, is never merely pretty.
Digitally remastered by Bill Giolando.

| | Magical Gathering: A Clannad Anthology CDs (2002) Digipak
Sheshbesh CD music
$15.65 As a survey of the first quarter century or so of Clannad's recording career, this double-CD compilation is intelligently selected and annotated. It draws pretty evenly from the various phases of the group's lifespan, from their most traditional folk-based albums in 1973 and 1974 to the slicker rock, pop, and new age-influenced sounds that gave them some crossover pop success in Europe and America in the 1980s and 1990s. Their most well-known tracks, and cuts with celebrity cameos, are here: the big early-'80s British hit "Harry's Game," "In a Lifetime" (with Bono of U2), "Something to Believe In" (with Bruce Hornsby), "I Will Find You (Theme From 'The Last of the Mohicans')," and four early-'80s songs on which a young Enya (then known as Eithne Brennan) was a vocalist with the band. No criticism can be levied at the packaging, complete with a 44-page booklet of liner notes. What's more problematic is the variation in quality, as the band changes from an exciting group who merged traditional Irish folk with folk-rock and jazz to a less-exciting, still folk-based one to a more successful but blander group who submerged the folk deeper in contemporary mainstream pop, rock, and new age production. The break is particularly noticeable toward the end of disc one: prior to that point the collection is wholly comprised of traditional material, but it then switches primarily to group originals for the rest of the anthology. It's likely that there will be a significant number of Clannad listeners who won't find
34 tracks on 2 CDs spanning the enchanting and entrancing blend of traditional Celtic, folk and pop sounds that the group made so popular in their 3 decades. A glorious reunion of classic songs ...
| | Jenny Morris Body & Soul CD (1987) Import
Sheshbesh music CDs
$26.79 Jenny Morris' debut album, Body and Soul, finally established her as a serious singer/songwriter after a number of years of minor success.
Mostly an album of sunny, straightforward pop topped by Morris' strong but unexceptional vocals, the album was more than redeemed by the superb Neil Finn-penned "You I Know." That song became a huge hit and helped propel the album into the upper reaches of the Australian charts.
A pleasant, upbeat album, but not memorable enough to make it necessary. ~Jonathan Lewis
"""This 1987 debut solo disc was the release that really broke New Zealander Jenny Morris into the Australian mainstream. It sold well - some 70000 copies in Australiapaving the way for the enormous success of her next disc Shiver. It also unveiled her not inconsiderable talents as a songwriteralthough it was a Neil Finn tune which captured the public's imaginationYou I Know."""

All of his pursuits-musical, spiritual, or otherwise-are larger-than-life: Thereâs no room for chance or sub âpar behavior. Excellence is key. This commitment to excellence isn't novel for him. As far back as his breakout, career-defining first album, ATORISE (Reformer) in 2000, Teriba has time and again gone for greatness. His landmark eighth album, THE PROMISE AND THE FULFILLED, is no different. Hands down, the album is the boldest, most complete work yet-a remarkable milestone in his now decade-long trajectory in music."God makes all things beautiful in His time and His time is always the best. I really believe God has been preparing me for this albumâ says Teriba. "He has walked me through and brought me out of so many things that I cannot help but declare His works to the world. This album is the declaration. I want the world to know God is faithful. If He has said it, if He has promised it, it will not return empty. He will always fulfill his word.â Born and raised in Ogun State of Nigeria, Teriba spent a great deal of his childhood in church. During this period, he cultivated and developed his musical talents by singing in the choir, not knowing it would one day become a path of evangelism and success for him. He later attended Federal Polytechnic in Kwara State of Nigeria, where his love and talent for music further blossomed.Evangelist Teriba emerged into the spotlight with the release of his debut album titled REFORMER (ATORISE) in 2000. This album quickly reignited the fire of praise and worship in the hearts of many and is known to have changed the face of gospel music, most especially in Nigeria. This fire quickly intensified and expanded beyond the walls and borders of Nigeria and found its way into other continents of the world, establishing Teriba as an international artist.Hailed as the âKing of Gospelâ, Teriba has mastered the art of spreading the Good News to all audiences, young and old, through his music. His desire is to bring people, through his music, closer to God. More importantly, he wants everyone to enjoy his music and worship God without any reserve. Still in awe of his achievements, âAtoriseâ also credits his success and that of his band of 10 years, âThe Divine Melody & Christ Foundation Voicesâ, to God.When asked what is next, Teriba replies with a smile, âI donât know; many more things by the grace of God. This album is just a new phase for me, a new beginning. I donât want to limit ...

Sheshbesh album
$10.39 The title of J. Moss's 2009 record is a statement. Moss has got the balance of faith and pop down, announcing a "love song" ("So Into You") with the passion of a contemporary R&B crooner, shifting it to his ...
