I love greek mythology! I am facisnated by greek mythology. I think they did a great job portraying the characters. I think it would have been interesting to show Zeus' affair with the mortal woman. Then we could see Hera as the bitter wife that sent Hercules to earth for punishment. Submitted by a reviewer (Hickory, NC) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
A funny, colorful spectacle! Disney's "Hercules" will make you laugh throughout the duration of the film, as it couples an all-star cast, spectacular animation that borrows elements from the Grecian art tradition, great music and barrels upon barrels of fun! A must-see and a must-have Disney treasure that will be enjoyed by children and adults alike, even if you are not particularly versed in Grecian mythology. Greek Mythology Lover!!! I became obsessed with Disney's Hercules when I watched it for the first time in 7th grade. We were watching it b/c I was studying greek Mythology in Language Arts class and the teacher letted us watch it to end our unit and the moment she putted it on i was hypnotized by the Greek gods and goddesses. It became my favorite Disney movie of all times. Over the years I loved Disney's Hercules so much that have I started to collect Hercules merchandise!!! Currently, I have the movie, the video game on Playstation 1, a book, a software, a Hades car, a few chess pieces, images off the Internet, a Baby Pegasus plush, and a hades plush. Today I am still obsessed with Disney's hercules. Submitted by ilovehorseyrides (Philadelphia, Pa) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Hercules review
$15.69 According to legend, there was once a magical sword stuck in a sturdy rock, and whoever removed it would soon be deemed the king of all Britons. Disney's classic animated feature, SWORD IN THE STONE, tells the tale of the plucky lad who managed just that feat. Deep in the woods of medieval England, a young orphan boy called Wart has his heart set on becoming a knight's squire. Once he happens across the eccentric wizard Merlin, however, his future path changes significantly; along with his intelligent and chatty owl Archimedes, Merlin trains young Wart in the ways of wit, wisdom, and heart, preparing him for a life in the upper-echelons of English royalty. Just as his lessons are drawing to an end, Wart gets to try his hand at the legendary sword, and upon successfully removing it, goes on to become the nation's famed King Arthur. A sweet story about the might of the mind, the 1963 film features the voices of Sebastian Cabot (THE JUNGLE BOOK) and Rickie Sorensen (TARZAN), and lush, colorful imagery in the grand tradition of Disney animation artistry.

Hercules video
$10.29 With the release of Robert Altman's M*A*S*H in 1970, a new form of comedy was born, one that would help to forever change the face of cinema. Altman's audacious film reflected the American counterculture's growing distrust of religion and government in the late 1960s and early 1970s, resulting in one of the biggest box office smashes of its time. Introducing the techniques he would employ throughout his storied career--overlapping dialogue, a constantly moving camera with a heavy amount of zooming, and a bold combination of frank subject matter with cynical humor--Altman immediately vaulted himself to Hollywood's upper ranks. Based on the novel by Richard Hooker, M*A*S*H follows a group of Mobile Army Surgical Hospital officers as they perform surgery and pass the time just miles from the front lines of the Korean conflict. Led by sardonic captains "Hawkeye" Pierce (Donald Sutherland) and "Trapper" John McIntyre (Elliott Gould), the film has the feel of an absurd three-ring circus. Other characters include the uptight nurse "Hot Lips" O'Houlihan (Sally Kellerman), the confused Major Frank Burns (Robert Duvall), the troubled Captain "Painless" Waldowski (John Shuck), and the simpleminded Captain "Duke" Forrest (Tom Skerritt). Altman's decision to present his film as a series of loosely connected vignettes rather than a traditionally unfolding narrative perfectly captures the freewheeling spirit so unique to early-'70s cinema.

Hercules review
$15.15 Director Michael Bay (ARMAGEDDON, THE ROCK) uses a tragic romantic triangle to set the stage for the infamous Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in this epic tale of love, loss, and patriotism. When Evelyn (Kate Beckinsale), a beautiful Navy nurse, meets dashing ace Army fighter pilot Rafe (Ben Affleck), the two fall madly in love, only to be separated abruptly when he is called upon to help fight the war in Europe. Unforeseen circumstances lead Evelyn into the arms of Danny (Josh Hartnett), another fighter pilot and Rafe's best friend since childhood. In the meantime, the Japanese military is planning the surprise early morning raid on Hawaii that will pull the United States into World War II. Spectacular special effects vividly recreate the attack in devastating detail as bombs explode, torpedoes shoot through the water, and bullets fly, shaking tranquil Pearl Harbor to its core. Bay deftly captures the patriotism and the loss of innocence of the young men and women who were suddenly thrust into the war. Cuba Gooding, Jr., Jon Voight, Alec Baldwin and Mako also star in this tribute to both the fallen and the survivors of one of the most horrific tragedies ever to occur on American soil.
Rafe and Danny are childhood friends who both dream of flying. As the world becomes embroiled in World War II in the early 1940's, Rafe and Danny sign on with the United States armed forces. Eager to participate in combat, Rafe is compelled to join the British air fight against the Nazis, leaving his girlfriend, beautiful army nurse Evelyn behind. When Evelyn and Danny are transferred to the military base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, they hear the new that Rafe has been shot down and killed. Hoping to move on after grieving, Danny and Evelyn find themselves in love. When Rafe returns alive, the three find themselves in an uncomfortable personal situation that is soon engulfed by th

| | Lene Lovich - Live From New York At Studio 54 DVD (1981)
Hercules film
$9.86 The operatic vocals of Lene Lovich are accompanied by synth mastermind Thomas Dolby on this concert recording from 1981.
This DVD includes a rare performance from the always intriguing Lene Lovich, with Thomas Dolby on synthesizer, at Studio 54 in NYC on December 4, 1981. On this night, Lovich projected her strong soprano with brilliance and explored the limitations of her voice in a way other New Wave experimental singers of the time could only dream about. Of this show, Stephen Holden of the NY Times wrote, 'Miss Lovich put on a fascinating show in which she sang, played the saxophone and danced with a lurching spontaneity that seemed half-demented. Her favorite mode is a wild, hiccupy vocal attack that often breaks into semi-improvisatory bird calling.'
