On his fourth solo release, VOL. 3...LIFE AND TIMES OF S. CARTER, Jay-Z keeps his lyrics laced up with as many jewels as his wrists. Though he's one of hip-hop's most street-connected rappers, Jay manages his commercial success well, a trait that this album makes clear. The Rockwilder-produced "Do It Again," which features labelmate Beanie Siegel, seems destined to find a place in club mixes with its energetic beat and catchy phrases. Jay Hova joins forces with down-south kings U.G.K. for "Big Pimpin'," a Timbaland-produced gem. Other guest artists include Missy Elliott and Cash Money's Juvenile. With VOL. 3...LIFE AND TIMES OF S. CARTER, Jigga takes time away from ghostwriting for other rappers to show off some of his own skills.

i was glad when i first got this album i heard all the tracks (including the bonus tracks). this is one of jay's most successful albums to date along w/ reasonable doubt, the blueprint, the black album, kingdom come, etc. and yes he is reloaded...

Jay-Z put out another classic album,this album shows you why he is so great .His lyrics are hot and most of the time he dosen't even write em ,he just goes in the booth and spits freestyle. Five stars for sure, Jigga you are the truth,ain't nobody seeing you pimp.If they cant respect that they whole perspective is wack maybe they'll love you when you fade to black!

If u ever wanna purchase a jigga cd then this is the 1..because the ones after this (2003-and on are so wack) he's no longer the best alive..i hope he retires..because all he is doing is making songs for my boo ..beyonce
