there last true classic great stuff here By SAXONMAN (long island ny)
The Album which made Mott the Hoople a well known name Just when they thought it was all over, David Bowie came in and helped this talented band stay alive. This album has some great tracks obviously the title track, which for me was always better than the Bowie orginal but also Mott's version of Sweet Jane by Lou Reed. Of their own penned stuff check out Mama's Little Jewel and Jerkin Crocus. Bad company fans will recognise the Mick Ralps penned Ready for Love instantly even though it merges with another song. All in all if your a Mott fan and you have'nt got this album get it its a must. By a reviewer (West Kirby Wirral UK)
Mott's Best I wore out at least 3 vinyl copies of this LP. I used to hitchhike with both an 8-track and a cassette version of this album, so whoever picked me up could play it while we tooled down the highway- great travel music- and it sounds just as good on CD. I'll probably wear this out, too. One of my all-time favorite albums and good from start to finish. A must for any CD collection. By DrMario (Wilmington, DE)
Lovely glam-rock album. One of only a few records you can listen to continuously, from start to finish and be thoroughly impressed by. Has some catchy little numbers, like the David Bowie penned "All The Young Dudes" (Mott's claim to fame). By metaldude (New Haven, Connecticut)
Mott at their best This album brought Mick Ralph's crunchy guitar to the forefront. Definitely Mott's most consistently upbeat product, as the rockers "Jerkin Crocus','Sucker', and 'One of the Boys' show that these guys could bring it. By a reviewer (Montgomery, AL)
