Next album for sale by Journey was released Jan 02, 2001 on the Columbia label. Of all of Journey's early pre-Steve Perry albums, 1977's NEXT is one of the best. Keyboardist Gregg Rolie doubles on vocals for the last time here, and while he isn't as talented a singer as Perry would prove to be on Journey's next album (1978's INFINITY), he does a more than adequate job. Highlights include the album opening trio of songs "Spaceman," "People," and "I Would Find You." ...See Full Description

Classic 70's rock. If you enjoy that type of music, you will enjoy this album. Classic. Favorite tune:Nickel and Dime

Yes, it is Journey, the Journey that has decades of hits. But . . . Journey had to make a tough choice in the 1970’s between their original instrumental rock roots or to move to more commercially successful pop music led by vocals. Okay, starvation gets old. Journeys self titled original rocker and their second album titled “Next” could pass as two discs in a double album set. Buy one of the two, give it a listen. Discover the original Journey vision, discover that there was rock before Steve Perry, discover how Journey sounded as an undiscovered instrumental ensemble.

Listened to this in high school in the late seventies (78,79). Loved them, was so crushed when they sold out. bought this on vinyl, 8-track, casette, and I imagine CD now that I found it.

||Best album by Journey before being ruined|
This is a great album, the way Journey sounded before Steve Perry came along and wrecked it all. This was their last album before churning out some of the cheesiest "rock" in music history.
