As exciting as they were, Ted Nugent's first three albums lacked the sonic punch in the gut of his outrageous live performances, something readily proved by 1978's classic Double Live Gonzo! Both Nugent and his band are in top form, yielding a fierce performance of their numerous mid-'70s classics. Mega-hit "Cat Scratch Fever" makes an obligatory appearance, but it's the songs from Nugent's self-titled debut which truly stand out. "Just What the Doctor Ordered" is damn near perfect, and the band really clicks on extended jams through "Motor City Madhouse" and the fantastic "Stranglehold." A consummate showman, Nugent also unleashes a number of hilarious, motormouth stage raps on "Baby Please Don't Go" and "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang" before offering the definitive version of his early classic "Great White Buffalo." In the year of the live album (1978), this one's about as good as they come. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia If you were a male teenager and a heavy metal fan back in the late 1970s, chances are your record collection included well-worn copies of two live albums--Kiss's ALIVE and Ted Nugent's DOUBLE LIVE GONZO. Both solidified each artist's standing as arena-headliners, as their concerts sold out due to their high-energy, entertaining live shows. DOUBLE LIVE GONZO also marked the last Nugent album until 1982 to feature singer/rhythm guitarist Derek St. Holmes, who was a major musical contributor to Ted's solo success. A consistently riveting listen from beginning to end, individual standouts include amped-up versions of such classic Nugent rockers as "Just What the Doctor Ordered," "Stranglehold," "Great White Buffalo," and "Cat Scratch Fever."
Ted Nugent Double Live Gonzo! Songs Double Live Gonzo! Music Review Average Rating: (4.4 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Great show, terrible sound quality. Now don't get me wrong- I am a huge fan of the Great Gonzo and have all his albums. This double CD (and why is a fifty minute album released as a double CD?)has really wretched sound quality. Even the Nuge himself has blasted this as being his least favorite due to the terrible mix. However there is great news, Rockcandy Records has released a new version of this album, that is remastered, sounds great, has liner notes from the Nuge, and kicks butt!(And is released as a single CD) Get the remastered version, you will not be disapointed. GONZO!!! Wow, I had forgotten what a rock album this was. Purchased the cd from cduniverse, the epitomy of 70's rock-American style- is right here in this cd. Favorite tune "Stormtroopin". Brings back memories of seeing Gonzo in H-Town, the night Elvis died. "Long live the King", he said, amen. Rock-On... Submitted by JCastle (Deep in the heart of Texas) Was This Review Helpful? Great Live Album From The Motor City Madman DOUBLE LIVE GONZO! is a great live album by Ted Nugent, and is his last 70s album to feature Derek St. Holmes on vocals. There have been other five-star live discs by Ted since this one came out in '78, but this one remains a must-own. Submitted by Adam (Suffern NY USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Double Live Gonzo!
$9.15 Thin Lizzy: Phil Lynott (vocals, bass); Brian Robertson, Scott Gorham (guitar); Brian Downey (drums); John Earle. Released in 1978, just as the hot streak starting with 1975's Fighting and running through 1977's Bad Reputation came to an end, Live and Dangerous was a glorious way to celebrate Thin Lizzy's glory days and one of the best double live LPs of the 70s. Of course, this, like a lot of double-lives of that decade -- Kiss' Alive! immediately springs to mind -- isn't strictly live; it ...

$22.79 Suzana discovered her singing voice in the garden-like setting of the Azores Islands where her family roots grow deep. The Portuguese culture and music have been a major influence on the Canadian-born Suzana. Upon winning a vocal competition in the Azores, a resident radio announcer encouraged her to go into the recording studio. Suzana enrolled in the Music Industry Arts Program and Fanshawe College where she was nominated twice for Best Performance. It was here Suzana paired her lyric and vocal talents with the musical arrangements of Mike Dell and the Suzana Da Camara project was born. Two albums later, Suzana and co-writer/guitarist Mike returned to the studio under the guidance of legendary Canadian producer, Jack Richardson (The Guess Who, Bob Seger and Alice Cooper). Jack produced Suzanas third self-titled album SUZANA DA CAMARA, nominated by the Music and Film in Motions 2005 Awards for Best Album (Suzana Da Camara) and Best Song (Searching Deep Down). The Album was also one of the Top Ten Albums of 2005 by the program Fresh Air on CBC Radio Canada. Suzana was featured with artist including Norah Jones, Michael Buble, Ella Fitzgerald and Tony Bennet ...
