this is heart at their (early) peak!! before roger fisher got pissed and flung his guitar for the last time (barely missing nancy's head in the process!!), this album achieved perfect musical karma.

Butterfly fly away
Great concept with somewhat unrealized potential. The Dog half is too brief and most of it sounds more like funk. The Butterfly half completely overwhelms the disc but has the stronger songs, including the album's highlight, Mistral Wind.

Heart Grows with A Dog and Butterfly!
Heart Fans... take this to Heart... "Dog and Butterfly" is an album to be reckoned with. The first cut, "Cook With Fire" drives from the first beat to the "Good evening, Welcome!" comment by lead singer Ann Wilson.

Ok, let's be honest, Roger Fisher may have left the band after this album, but I do not know if his "getting pissed" was not warranted.
