Saved songs Product Information
Saved album for sale by Bob Dylan was released Jan 21, 2003 on the Columbia label. A vastly underappreciated celebration of faith with a traditional black gospel approach on original Dylan songs that, along with the exclusively gospel concerts he was giving at the time, scared his longtime fans and record company half to death, but really ended up being a lovingly done one-shot that featured a classic, "What Can I Do for You?" ~ Thom Granger Live Recording Recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio, Sheffield, Alabama. ...See Full Description

||A masterpiece 10 stars|
"Jesus put his hand on me, it was a physical thing. I felt it all over me, my whole body trembled.
By Robbie.G (New Zealand)
If you like Bob Dylan a gospel music (which in itself is a wierd combination) you will love "Saved". A Bob Dylan fan for thirty years.

||A wonderful, deeply moving Dylan album!|
It may be strange and unusual for a lot of his fans, but "Saved" is one of the great lost Dylan albums and it should not be misunderstood for what it is.
By Ron Haynes, Jr. (Covington/Cornelia, GA, USA)
||As usual, on the cutting edge|
It's too bad that so many people assumed that because Dylan accepted Jesus and became a born-again Christian, that automatically made him 1) suddenly a parrot whose creative impulses are stunted, and 2) a right-wing Republican.

||Remakes can be better than the original!|
I think the reaction of "hard core" Dylan fans to this album is similar to the way any secular artist is ostrisized for writing songs that aren't "Sex, drugs and Roack-n-roll!!" It's ridiculous! Heaven forbid Bob should roll out a couple albums in his life that show more of his spiritual side-- he's an entertainer--not a human being! While the Third Day cover of this particular song is (IMO) better than the original, the lyrics are fantastic, heartfelt and honest (emotionally and spiritually) and isn't that what attracts so many people to bob Dylan?.
