Despite a string of disappointing studio albums, Ted Nugent fulfills his recording obligation for Epic Records with this excellent live collection. Intensities in 10 Cities features all original material and proves once and for all that when it came to live performances, few could touch the Nuge's over-the-top charisma. "Spontaneous Combustion," "Jailbait," and the self-explanatory "My Love Is Like a Tire Iron" are slabs of prime gonzo, the likes of which hadn't been heard since Cat Scratch Fever. The silence between songs and rather boring amped-up blues romps such as "Heads Will Roll" and "I Am a Predator" knock a few points off the total score, but a furiously giddy cover of "Land of a Thousand Dances" will leave the listener grinning maniacally nonetheless. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia Although he'd experienced a dip in popularity by the early 1980s, Ted Nugent kept on doing what he did best--slamming out raunchy, gonzo hard rock, as evidenced on 1981's INTENSITIES IN TEN CITIES. The songs were written and recorded while on the road during Nugent's tour in support of 1980's SCREAM DREAM. While it may not be on par with the mega-electric energy of his other live albums DOUBLE LIVE GONZO and LIVE AT HAMMERSMITH '79, INTENSITIES still has its highlights. You know what's in store by such Nugent-esque song titles as "My Love is Like a Tire Iron," "Heads Will Roll," "Flying Lip Lock," and "TNT Overture." | Intensities In Ten Cities Music Review Average Rating: (3.8 out of 5 stars) BEST LIVE ONE !!! I forgot to mention that I'm a weakminded, queerassed California liberal. Ted rocks ! Thanks for reading my review you guys. Submitted by wattiebuchan1961 (Everywhere,CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
BEST LIVE ONE !!! This one smokes GONZO in evey aspect, especially in the sound department. The structure of songs is perhaps catchier but this is a much unconvencional and powerful hard rock/metal album.Only think that is perhaps to be missed is Derek St. Holmes (former rhythm guitarrist).Pity about the animal hunting,
bigotry and right wing republican stance.I´m on the opossite side of the street but still can´t help to LOVE his music, especially his 78-81 period. Submitted by wattiebuchan1961 (Everywhere,CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Not Double Live Gonzo part 2 This live CD of new songs from Ted has some good guitar hooks, but it's missing something to put it near (or even close) to Double Live Gonzo's level of greatness. This has to be the last album/CD of Ted's crazy 70's style before he moved onto 80's rock blandness. The early stuff is better. Submitted by Milt (Seattle, WA USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
24 years and it's still flying under the radar You have to keep an open mind when listening to "Intensities" for the first time. It is truly a live record of (get this) all new material. At least, it was all new material at the time it was released. Who has the guts to do that ? Some brainiacs will dismiss this release because they don't see Cat Scratch Fever or Stranglehold listed on it. This is the GREATEST LIVE RECORD that no one has ever heard of. This was the last record of new material that Ted made before losing direction in the eighties. Of course, Spirit of the Wild (1995) and Craveman (2002) show the greatness that Ted is still capable of when he takes his time and puts out a quality product. My only disappointment with "Intensities in Ten Cities" now is that it has not received the remastered treatment. Regardless, this is Ted unbridled and live playing all original material that you can't get anywhere else. Best of all, it's freakin' great ! Submitted by TDJ (Houston, TX) Was This Review Helpful? $8.89 Black Sabbath: Ozzy Osbourne (vocals); Tony Iommi (guitar); Geezer Butler (bass instrument); Bill Ward (drums). Paranoid was not only Black Sabbath's most popular record (it was a number one smash in the U.K., and "Paranoid" and "Iron Man" both scraped the U.S. charts despite virtually nonexistent radio play), it also stands as one of the greatest and most influential heavy metal albums of all time. Paranoid refined Black Sabbath's signature sound -- crushingly loud, minor-key dirges loosely based on heavy blues-rock -- and applied it to a newly consistent set of songs with utterly memorable riffs, most of which now rank as all-time ...
