(5 Customer Reviews)
Ray Conniff's Here We Come A-Caroling is a chipper, upbeat album that feels like a '60s commercial for Christmas more than anything else. The overly cheery, goofy presentation actually makes the album far better, giving the songs the right twist for the time of year. The Christian point of view may put off some listeners who do not share the same beliefs, but this is a mostly harmless trip down nostalgia lane that may appeal to lovers of the ironic as well as fans of this time period of music. ~ Bradley Torreano This album, also known as Merry Christmas to All, was a million-seller in 1962 and a top-seller for ten years. It's a good '60s sound-of-the-season timepiece. ~ David A. | Christmas Album: Here We Come A-Caroling Music Christmas Album: Here We Come A-Caroling Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Good To Hear Good Music Again I remembered the Ray Conniff recording of "Here We Come A-Caroling" when I was a child, and it is so good to hear it now, in full stereo sound! Other standouts are "Adoramus Te" and "The Real Meaning of Christmas". A very listenable holiday treat, and I have never seen it in a retail store. Thank you, CD Universe, for making this wonderful recording available! Submitted by a reviewer (Evanston, IL, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
What a beautiful album of Ray's. I am from India. About seven years back I bought a cassette. Since then every Christmas I play only this cassette. I do not get fed up listening to it all the time. I tried to procure a CD 'online' but sadly the promoters of Ray Coniff's album do not ship to India. Can you imagine how disappointed I am. Perhaps you can help me! I want a CD at ANY COST.

Excellent This is the Ray Conniff sound we in our family have come to love, harmonious vocals with great Coniff orchestration. It took my Mom & Pa back to the great days of Conniff and revitalised memories. A must for any lover of decent music !!! Submitted by a reviewer (Sunderland ,UK) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$6.09 Arranger: Ray Conniff. Ray Conniff was only a step or two above Lawrence Welk, where edginess is concerned, on the easy listening scale, and it is true that his albums could often have a sort of bland, soulless quality in their weakest moments. Nevertheless, there is something undeniably lovely about the orchestral and vocal arrangements on many of his albums, and that is never more so the case than on We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Even if you ignore the album's holiday aim, it is possibly Conniff's single finest recorded moment, with an incomparably strong choral vocal performance from his Singers. You cannot really segregate the music from its purpose, ...
