songwriting
this is Bruce on his own, rude, touching; sometimes his voice sounds cold and far, it's only desperate instead. This album is far from e-street sound, actually I think it's impossible to play it with a band.

Masterpiece - deserves to be remastered
Sincerely hope Springsteen and Columbia take two initiatives; Remaster this great album & finally release the original album sessions recorded with The E Street Band.

The Songwriter Shines
I owned just about every Bruce CD ever made except this one. Now that I have it, man did I miss out on years of enjoyment! This CD is amazing! The songwriting skills of "The Boss" shine through each track.
