His fourth album under the Epic banner, and Luther Vandross still retains that freshness that is fulfilling to his audience and rightly so. This album spawned four Billboard R&B singles in "'Til My Baby Comes Home," "It's Over Now," "Wait for Love," and "If Only for One Night." However, as superb as these songs are, any one of the remaining selections could have achieved comparable chart status. For starters, "The Other Side of the World" has that suspenseful rhythm and engaging lyric; "My Sensitivity" has a balmy arrangement enhanced with a bashful, yet mature, lyric. As for the title track and the remake of the Stevie Wonder classic "Creepin'," Vandross is witty with his vocal stylings. "If Only for One Night" was also a remake; it was written by Brenda Russell and covered by both her and Roberta Flack. The production skills of Vandross are commendable as he exhibits patience and acumen to know his boundaries. ~ Craig Lytle

In Tribute... I, as many, have been a Luther fan for years, and I wanted to dove-tail with something in the previous review...
This is indeed Luther's best albulm. Somehow I thought I had heard all of his material, but until a few days ago I had never heard "The Other Side Of the World". My favorite Luther Song was always "Superstar/Don't You Remeber", but after hearing the other side of the wolrd, I think it's a toss-up between the two. I think allot of people slept on that track, but what a dandy!!! We miss you Luther...

Luther's best? I have most of Vandross' work and I consider this his best release start to finish. This is CD is not only very romantic but also versatile. if I'm hosting a cookout, it goes over well. Luther was very soulful throughout this CD and his song "The Other Side Of The World" is my favorite Vandross ballad of all time. It's probably his best song most people are not familiar with. ONE OF HIS FINEST I HAVE THE FOUR FIRST CD´S WITH LUTHER. THIS IS HIS FOURTH AND MAYBE MY FAVOURITE. VERY SOFT AND ROMANTIC. BUT THEY ARE ALL AS FINE, SO IT´S HARD TO PICK ONE. BUT IF YOU GET HIS FIRST FOUR YOU HAVE WHAT YOU NEED WITH HIM. MUCH BETTER SONGS THAN ON JEFFREY OSBORNES ALBUMS, EVEN THOUGH I LIKE JEFFREYS VOICE MORE.
