| You'll Wanna Be Green after This... Firstly, let it suffice to say that it would take a more "Rock"-flavored outing ("Lovergirl") to bring Lady Tee crossover success, however that success would not duplicate itself a second time, as "Lips 2 Find U," as awesome a song as it is, just doesn't have the same PUNCH as its more "pop-like" predecessor. However, this album really IS a masterpiece with all of its deep, dark and rock-influenced pieces. Other flavors here include a Latin dance vibe a la "Shadow Boxing" in the wonderful "Batuada Suite" and a very thoughtful, smoky and autumn-like jazz downtempo torch song in the closing "Sunny Skies." Listen with your eyes closed and your heart open to receive this impeccably well written and produced "trip" that will take you not only OVER the rainbow, but "behind the groove," as everything she does has and will continue to do for years to come. Another ***** 5 stars. By Starr (Portland, ME, USA) |
