| Well Done! I normally listen to Rock, but this was suggested to me by a friend. I recoginzed many of the songs and enjoyed hearing the duets with other artists, as well. By neil_dye (Kwajalein Atoll, Republic Of The Marshall Islands) |

Ricky Skaggs Bluegrass Rules! CD (1997)
Revolutions Of Time, The Journey 1975-1993 album for sale Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder: Ricky Scaggs, Dennis Parker (vocals, guitar, mandolin); Paul Brewster (vocals, guitar); Bryan Sutton (guitar); Marc Pruett (banjo); Jerry Douglas (dobro); Stuart Duncan, Bobby Hicks (fiddle); Mark Fain (bass).
BLUEGRASS RULES won the 1999 Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album. "Get Up John" was nominated for a 1999 Grammy Award for Best Country Instrumental Performance.
In the liner notes to BLUEGRASS RULES, Ricky Skaggs claims that due to his contractual obligations as a commercial country music artist, he was unable to release an album of bluegrass music, the style dearest to his heart. Now on his own label Skaggs Family Records, Skaggs takes to pickin' and singin' with an enthusiasm born of years of waiting. His fine backing band, Kentucky Thunder, kicks things off with smokin' licks over a pell-mell pace in the Bill Monroe cover "Get Up John."
The album follows with upbeat, traditional two and three chord tunes, such as "Think Of What You've Done," "Rank Strangers," and "Somehow Tonight," complete with infectious singalong choruses sweetened by high, tight harmonies. The instrumental jams, "Rawhide," and "Amanda Jewell," are particularly noteworthy, featuring superb fiddle, bango and guitar work, as well as Skaggs own mandolin playing. Nominated for a Grammy in 1999.
Includes liner notes by Ricky Skaggs.

Ruben Blades Y Son Del Solar Antecedente CD (1988)
Revolutions Of Time, The Journey 1975-1993 CD music Instantly upbeat and crackling with energy, ANTECEDENTE sees a further crystallization of Ruben Blades' reinvention of salsa as a format for the barrio narrative. The material lies for the most part in a realm of romance and nostalgia, and unlike other albums with Seis Del Solar, the keyboards have been set down and the horns picked back up for a more straight-ahead salsa feel.
"La Marea" and "Juana Mayo" are thick cuts of hard salsa, the latter a darkly poetic depiction of a prostitute's endless and anonymous nightwalking. "'Tas Caliente" goes on a joyride full of piquant rhythmic breaks as Ruben admonishes a muchacho to change his low-life ways "or one of these days you're gonna get it." "Patria" steals the show here though, with its simple, slowly swelling Afro-Cuban rhythmic accompaniment and arresting ode to the "Motherland." Far from any jingoistic chest-pounding, Ruben offers a sunny, open vision of the word as he heartily proclaims, "...little brother, Motherland is so many beautiful things!"
Live Recording
Recorded at Sound Ideas, New York, New York from October-December 1987.
Personnel: Ruben Blades (vocals, maracas); Oscar Hernandez (piano, synthesizer); Mike Vinas (synthesizer, bass); "Papo" Vasquez, Renaldo Jorge (trombone); Marc Quinones (bongos, campana, guiro, tumbadora); Ralph Irizarry (timbales, percussion); Tito Allen, Nestor Sanchez (background vocals).

Brent Cash How Will I Know If I'm Awake CD (2008)
Revolutions Of Time, The Journey 1975-1993 buy CD music The Marina label presents the debut release from Athens, GA-based Brent Cash. Sounding like a lost sunshine pop classic from the '60s, How Will I Know If I'm Awake is overflowing with hook-laden choruses, multi-layered vocal harmonies and lush, sophisticated arrangements. It's the sound of endless summers and good vibrations. From the start, multi-instrumentalist Cash decided to record his songs like "they did it back then," hiring the best musicians in town and assembling a mini-orchestra featuring strings, brass and even a harp. The results are simply stunning. From the opening chords of "Everything That's Grey," we enter melody wonderland, a place where major 7 chords rule and beautiful vocal harmonies dazzle your mind. "Digging The Fault Line" is full of Byrds guitar jangle, sounding like the perfect soundtrack to cruise into golden California sunsets (with a great Wes Montgomery-like guitar solo along the way). "Only Time" explodes with 100 % fat-free youthful euphoria -- Roger Nichols meets The 5th Dimension. While deeply rooted in '60s songwriting -- influenced by Bacharach, Wilson, McCartney, and yes, The Monkees -- Cash certainly has his own unique signature style. Just listen to "And Had We Ever?" and "I Think I'm Falling In Love" -- with its complex, enchanting textures, ignoring conventional song structures. "Love Is Burning Down Tonight" -- a striking duet between Brent and Amanda Kapousouz -- is a special highlight of the album, while "Good Morning Sunshine" could be the theme song to the best TV series in the world -- the harpsichord-driven piece is chock-full of amazing twists and turns of melodic beauty. "This Sea, These Waves" moves us into bossa nova territory -- starting off in a classic Getz/Gilberto mould, the song soon morphs into heavenly orchestrated Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66 elegance. "More Than Everything," clocking in at over six minutes, ends this beautiful song circle with a great final statement about overcoming heartbreak, delivered with the sincerity of a Carpenters record. Music made the way it was meant to be heard.

Wolvhammer Black Marketeers of World War III CD (2010)
Revolutions Of Time, The Journey 1975-1993 songs Wolvhammer are a Minneapolis-based black/death metal band favoring raw sonic violence over loyalty to specific genres. Their music has the headlong rushing power of the best black metal, but it's not as treble-fixated; producer Sanford Parker has made sure they've got plenty of low end and, more importantly, a live, organic feel. The songs are thrashy and powerful, with a similar feel to early, primitive work by Hellhammer and Celtic Frost. The vocals are harsh, and fed through some distortion in the manner of noise rock bands of the '90s, but they're still clearly the sound of a human throat, not the in/post-human screeching or gurgling some "extreme" metal frontmen go for. There are also some rhythmic surprises here and there, most notably on "Suicide Brigade." This isn't a particularly pathbreaking or innovative record, but it's made with a lot of passion and has a compelling power that makes it a worthy investment of a metal fan's time. ~ Phil Freeman
Personnel: Zander Ness (vocals); Sanford Parker (synthesizer).

Revolutions Of Time, The Journey 1975-1993 CD music Kendal Ronjii Barr is a charismatic rapper/ songwriter from Freeport, Grand Bahama. Ronjii began rapping when it was not a popular thing for a boy in the Bahamas to do. As a result of commitment, energetic performances, and stage presence, he was awarded talent competition winner at Wild Out Wednesday in Club Amnesia in 2002. It was from his past hit album "WELL MUDDASICK!!" which gave him his fame in the Bahama Islands. Songs such as Coconut Rum, Ready 2 Rock, and Hot Stuff are getting heavy radio air play on Mix 102.
1 and 100 Jamz. Ronjii has been the opening act at the Dancehall King and Queen Competition in Club Amnesia in 2003, and the opening act for Jackie O at Bullets Birthday bash in the Bahamas in 2004. After long hours of grinding on the streets, Ronjii created his own underground following. Traveling throughout Florida and Georgia performing at different clubs in different cities, Ronjii has scored well with the crowds making them dance and rap his hooks. Ronjii has sparked the interest of several magazines and radio stations for interviews, like the exclusive interview with Power 1360 in Winter Haven, FL with DJ Triple X.
