| Memories
I bought the CD, because I had the original recording in late 1950's. The CD is as good or better - probably one of the very best ever recordings the capture the atmosphere of live performances. The original notes included are also a great idea.

I was at one of the concerts by Louis Armstrong, when he was in the Netherlands at the time. I bought the LP record (Ambassador Satch) later. And I enjoyed it very much. It is still one of the greatest recordings of the greatest jazz trumpet player ever. It is a pity that I can"t play that recording anymore as I have'nt got a grammophone

This is an excellent recording.Iknow because i had one that was damaged.So,I ordered this one.Ithought I could play it on my new machine.But unfortunatelyit won't play. But that's my fault not yours.I have had great service from you folks.

| The essential Armstrong of the 50's
This is one of the best if not THE best Armstrong record ever recorded with his All Stars from the mid 50's! The live recordings of Tiger Rag, All of Me, Royal Garden Blues, just to name a few are the best Versions ever recorded of those songs - the fire, the power and authority the band is playing is truly unmatched in hot-jazz history. Another equally great one is the live record called "Satchmo The Great"which is unfortunately not available here at cduniverse. This band is at its best live: fast, powerful and virtuous, the audience's reaction will prove that as well. A must have for every Jazz and Music fan.
