Short and Sweet!
If you like Modern Jazz, and although
recorded in 1959 this is 'Modern Jazz'
of the highest order.

Boring are you kidding me ? This is a classic pure and simple. Great band great band leader fantastic cd for cocktail partys for friends who may not dig the jazz.

Ah, the glory....
"Mingus Ah Um" was one of the first jazz albums I brought, and along with "Kind Of Blue" it can be recommended to music lovers whether they love jazz or not.

Forgive me, but I have never understood why this record is so highly rated. IT IS SO UTTERLY BORING AND DREARY.
