| One of the best In terms of smart arrangment, blends of musical types and just plain good hooks and rythm. I think this is one of the best of all time. I love every single song, (except "Do like you do in New York") I think it is better than Silk Degrees which is good, but this is smoother and more sophisticated. By robertaliving (Chicago, IL) |
| What can I say about Boz What can I say about Boz Scaggs? The man is able to bridge so many musical gaps with his understanding of disco, soul, rock and pop. This album especially showcases his amazing talent of capturing the changing musical landscape of the late 70's and early 80's. Just listen to the funk and groove of "JoJo" and the rock/pop of "You Got Some Imagination". Is it 1977 or 1983? It doesn't matter because it's all Boz. By hostrem (Burbank, CA) |
| This CD is so cool Boz Scaggs has made an excellent CD with "Middle Man". It rocks, it is soulful and has alot of energy. This is a great CD--great production, songs, background singing, and his voice sounds excellent By a movie and music lover (Hoover, Alabama) |
| A pleasant surprise It was a pleasant surprise to re-visit this 1980 release with all material having been digitally remastered. This makes the songs stand out such as hits "JoJo" and "Breakdown Dead Ahead." But it is sleeperes such as "Isn't It Time" that brings this disc to a new appreciation. Boz can make any soulful song jump to life or melt the listener with a ballad such a "You Can Have Me Anytime" (with guitar solo from Carlos Santana.) The musicians and production even top his 1976 release "Silk Degrees." This disc would surprise the casual Boz Scaggs fan, and would blend at any function filled with the baby boomers.
