Personnel includes: Paul Simon (vocals, guitar); Art Garfunkel (vocals). Producers include: Tom Wilson, Bob Johnston, Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel, Roy Halee. Compilation producer: Bob Irwin. Includes liner notes by David Halberstam. All tracks have been digitally remastered. The Best of Simon & Garfunkel supersedes Greatest Hits as the best compilation of the duo, with more tracks (20 compared to Greatest Hits' 14). Among the new additions are some notable hits: "Hazy Shade of Winter," "At the Zoo," "Fakin' It" (in its "Mono Single Version," for what that's worth), "The Dangling Conversation," and the 1975 reunion "My Home Town." Includes the A-sides of all 16 S&G singles to make the Billboard charts, as well as three B-sides and one album cut. The only number lost from the Greatest Hits set is "Kathy's Song." ~ Richie Unterberger Following the critically and commercially successful 1997 OLD FRIENDS box set, Legacy released a single-disc Simon & Garfunkel best-of collection. Simon & Garfunkel's are arguably the most successful duo in pop history, and this set features all of their charting songs. The disc is also an improvement on their 1972 GREATEST HITS release, with nearly twice the number of tracks, remastered sound, and wonderful liner notes by David Halberstram. "The Sound of Silence," an anthem for a bygone era, leads into the reflective "Homeward Bound." Though it may not have climbed as high on the charts, the haunting and string-laden "The Dangling Conversation" is another standout track. "The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)" and "At the Zoo" are the two greatest metropolitan Sunday songs in history. Also included are "The Boxer" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water" two bona fide classics, as well as the non-hit single "Song for the Asking." The album concludes with "My Little Town," from the duo's 1975 reunion. Simon & Garfunkel's influence is immeasurable, and each generation that follows gets turned on to the artists formerly known as Tom and Jerry. Whether you are a first-time listener, or rediscovering these amazing songs, this disc is a worthy purchase.

Best of Music...Worst of Service! The ad stated 'usually ships in 1-2 days'. What a load of crap! It should have stated '2 WEEKS'. Took forever to get here, could not get it in time to send as a Christmas gift. Nice service... The music was slightly less than expected, but maybe a hardcore S&G fan would disagree. Swap hit for nonhit? OK. I don't know whether "Cathy's Song" was a hit, but it was in the original Greatest Hits compilation. Why swap it out for a non hit like "Song for the Asking?" Record companies are always doing things like this to get fans to buy another cd for one missing song. Otherwise, this is a stellar disc. Cathy's song is very good. I suppose that you could still get the original just to have these songs live as opposed to studio versions. If you really like S&G, you can't go wrong with having both discs. Excellent improvement from previous greatest hits CD! All of Simon & Garfunkel's songs are all included from their hit singles. Like to most memorable timeless 60's folk-rock classics to "Mrs. Robinson", "The Sounds Of Silence", "I Am Rock", "Bridge Over Troubled Water" to "Cecilla". These selection are better than any S&G collection. Because the only previously compilation just had demos and unreleased alternate takes. From the box set called "OLD FRIENDS" it contained most of the rehearsal studio recording sessions at that time with Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel on it instead! No album by the Byrds -- at least, among those that weren't originally regarded as well-nigh perfect -- has risen more in some reviewers' estimation in the time since its release than Untitled. True, it always had a following -- and among the later (i.e., post-1968) Byrds albums, it was always the one to own, even if you weren't a huge fan. A double LP issued with two discs for the price of one, Untitled was one of the rare modest commercial successes for the latter-day group, which was understandable, as its 69 minutes of music held a great deal of allure, but the album's sales success was also a result of all of the talent there was in the latter-day group, as well as most of the circumstances surrounding its creation all lining up, for once, in the same direction.
