| | James Taylor Best Live CD James Taylor Discography of CDs
This is an Enhanced audio CD which contains regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files, including lyrics, credits, full-length videos, interview footage, tour paraphernalia and photos.
BEST LIVE finally catches James Taylor in a performance of most of his masterpieces from the GREATEST HITS album. Expertly recorded on a short tour with his regular performing band, this album finds Taylor in stellar form as he glides through tried-and-true audience favorites like "Sweet Baby James" and "Your Smiling Face." Likewise, signature tunes such as "Fire And Rain," "How Sweet It Is" and "Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight" are included because, well, it's a James Taylor show! Under the direction of pianist/producer Don Grolnick, the band, which includes studio veterans Mike Landau (guitar), Jimmy Johnson (bass) and Carlos Vega (drums), masterfully performs the more recent songs "Handy Man" and the beautiful "Shed A Little Light" along with the older hits. The always rocking "Steamroller Blues" is here as proof that this is one show not be missed. If you can get a ticket, that is.

James Taylor is the godfather of the sensitive singer-songwriter movement of the '70s that clogged the charts with introspective folk-rock ballads and kept scores of troubadour manques up to their well-studied navels in champagne and caviar. He was the Nirvana to that generation's Bush and Stone Temple Pilots, an innovator ...
| | James Taylor Greatest Hits CD (1976)
Best Live
$13.59 Principally recorded at Sound Factory, Sunset Sound, Crystal Recording Studios and Warner Bros. Recording Studios, Hollywood, California between 1969 & 1976.
What self-respecting '70s pop music fan's collection would be complete without James Taylor's GREATEST HITS? Not many, apparently, since it is one of the biggest selling catalog titles of all time. All of Taylor's huge hits from the first, and possibly most acclaimed, leg of his long career are included. "Fire And Rain," "You've Got A Friend," "Sweet Baby James" and "How Sweet It Is" sound as golden as the day they were first heard on the radio.
Interestingly, two of the songs here, "Something In the Way She Moves" and "Carolina In My Mind" from Taylor's first album have been re-recorded especially for this collection. Special guests like Carole King, Carly Simon, Joni Mitchell, Graham Nash, David ...

$12.79 Though larger-than-life vocalist Freddie Mercury was obviously the heart of Queen, guitarist/songwriter/occasional singer Brian May was unquestionably the heart. It was his multi-tracked guitar arrangements and often his sophisticated, understated compositions that gave the band their signature sound. It's surprising then, that by 1998, he was only ...
