Evolution album for sale Product Description
Evolution album for sale by Journey was released Oct 15, 1996 on the Columbia label. Journey was pushing closer and closer to major success by 1979, and its final release of the decade, EVOLUTION, helped a great deal. Evolution CD music While many other rock bands of the era were flirting with disco, Journey stood its ground and recorded a fine collection of rockers and ballads. "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'," remains one of Journey's all-time great tracks, with "Just the Same" and "City of Angels" certainly not far behind. Evolution CD music contains a single disc with 11 songs. ...See Full Description

| BEST OF THE STEVE PERRY YEARS I KNOW THAT THAT POP SUPERMAN "ROY THOMAS BAKER" PRODUCED THIS BUT THIS DISC IS THE BEST ALL-AROUND ALBUM WITH THIS LINE-UP.THE SONGS THAT HAVE GREGG ROLLIE ABSOLUTELY SMOKE LIKE "JUST THE SAME WAY" AND "CITY OF THE ANGELS" AND PERRY BRINGS HIS BEST MATERIAL TO THIS DISC AS WELL.THIS DISC OUT PERFORMS THEIR OTHER ALBUMS FROM START TO FINISH AS A WHOLE.MOST PEOPLE WILL SAY "ESCAPE" BUT FROM A PERFORMANCE STANDPOINT THIS ALBUM PUTS IT TO SHAME AS FAR AS OVERALL QUALITY. | Great Album I love this follow-up to Steve Perry's Journey debut. They mix the rock with the quiant ballads to perfection. Lovin' You is Easy and Daydream are top highlights, but every song on this disk is strong. I love the ending to Sweet and Simple-starts out mellow, but ends with a repeating "It's what I like to do" with heavier guitar. I love the smooth rocking of City of the Angels, and the choppy When You're Alone it Ain't Easy. I love the softer tones of Too Late and Do You Recall especially their occasional power chords. Majestic is a great album-opening instrumental that builds to a great, soaring guitar melody. Just the Same Way is a great Rollie-Perry duet, and, of course, who can forget Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin', with its 110 "na"'s (I think I counted correctly). Finally, Lady Luck...MAN I love those keys! Great song! This album is killer, and I don't even think it's their best! Journey is my fav. band, but anyone who likes rock, hard rock, or soft rock, (AOR) should buy this album. By Jon (Utah, USA) |
| Reissue, not remastered Buyer beware. These new Journey releases are reissues of their 1996 remastered releases. They are NOT remastered in 2006. Rhino should be ashamed of itself for this (it's been 10 years - I would have gladly paid for a remastered version, but not for new packaging). | Journey-Evolution (Reissue) CD Impressed that CD Universe had this hard to find second release by Journey (Steve Perry era). Have been looking in commercial music stores and vintage shops and was unable to find this gem that highlights the musicianship and sound of Journey. Recommend this CD to all generations of Journey fans. By wms12534 (Hudson, NY, USA) This review is for a different format. |
