In the mid-'90s, the world of Latin pop was in dire need of an old-fashioned romantic singer, somebody who would be able to reproduce the charisma of legendary crooners such as Jose Jose, Roberto Carlos, or Palito Ortega--a new artist who would bring back to the genre an injection of old-fashioned melodrama.
The prayers of so many female fans were finally answered in 1996, when Colombian singer Charlie Zaa released the smash record SENTIMIENTOS, claiming the throne of Latin pop and romantic balladry. REMIXES celebrates the first four years in the career of Zaa, giving his sentimental anthems a rhythmic makeover that allows them to shine in the disco floor as well. The outstanding "Un Disco Mas" demonstrates the importance that Zaa attributes to the lyrics, with a clever "world-within-a-world" story about songs (and records) bringing back memories of loves that once seemed promising but could never become a reality.

Okay, seriously...After I heard Brian May's guitar on Queen's "We Will Rock You", I knew that I had to become a guitar player.Being a relatively happy guy all my life, I lean more towards loud guitar-driven songs that have a major key home base. Without using the music theory description, I guess that means I have to use the term "pop". But "pop" isn't a bad thing! Some of my biggest musical influences are (by that description) "pop" bands. Just pop bands with great guitar players! Queen, Boston, Journey, etc.Being a guitar player, I listen to just about anything that has guitar in it, and over the years I've been influenced by a lot of other artists and genres as well. Blues, Funk, R&B, Country, you name it. With that in mind, please sample through ALL 10 tracks at the left because there are a number of musical styles on this CD.
