Passage album for sale Product Description
Passage album for sale by Carpenters was released Dec 08, 1998 on the A&M (USA) label. Easily the strangest item in the Carpenters' extensive catalogue, 1977's PASSAGE was a concerted effort to steer away from the siblings' public image as purveyors of easy-listening pop. All of the Carpenters' albums feature examples of Karen's stunning interpretive powers. The songs covered here include "B'wana She No Home," Andrew Lloyd Webber's "On the Balcony of the Casa Rosada/Don't Cry For Me Argentina," reggae standard "Man Smart, Woman Smarter," and--perhaps most bizarrely--a straight-forward cover of Klaatu's just plain weird "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft." Somehow this final oddity managed to become a top-ten hit! The album was remastered by Richard Carpenter in 1998 as part of a general overhaul of the Carpenters' A&M catalogue. Passage CD music contains a single disc with 8 songs. ...See Full Description

| Very different, but still excellent This album is a little different from the other Carpenters' albums, but is still outstanding, especially - 'Don't Cry For Me Argentina' and 'Calling Occupants'. By mro2u (Ontario,Canada) |
| famously "experimental" LP from carpenters With 1977's "Passage", the Carpenters entered a new phase of their entertainment careers (new management, more aggressive production values) and for one shining album project decided to do exactly what they wanted. By vic (Seattle, WA) |
