| | If You're Ready: The Best Of Enchantment CD (1996)
20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best Of The Brothers Johnson music CDs
$8.39 Enchantment were one of the very last "sweet soul" groups of the '70s to reach fruition and chart success. Not slick enough to be dubbed "urban contemporary," they offered a polished take on the early '70s soul of Motown (especially ...
| | S O S Band Best Of The S.O.S. Band CD (1995)
20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best Of The Brothers Johnson songs
$11.05 (saxophone, keyboards, vocals); Abdul Raoof (trumpet, flugelhorn,
percussion); Jason "T.C." Bryant (keyboards, vocals); John Alexander
Simpson (bass, vocals); James Earl Jones III (drums, vocals); Jerome "JT"
All songs written by James Harris III and Terry Lewis except "Take Your Time (Do It Right)" (Harold Clayton/Sigidi) and "What's Wrong With Our Love Affair?" (Jason Bryant).
Like all greatest-hits or best-of compilations, this one is missing some key ingredients, namely "S.O.S. (Dit Dit Dit Dat Dat Dat Dit Dit Dit)" and "Just the Way You Like It." Since the band didn't record tons of material and was only active ...

| | Lionel Richie Definitive Collection CD (2003) Remastered
20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best Of The Brothers Johnson CD music
$10.55 The first pressings of THE DEFINITIVE COLLECTION included a bonus disc featuring rare tracks.
THE DEFINITIVE COLLECTION, though not as thorough as the excellent two-disc set GOLD (released a year prior), is a handy overview of the Commodores' career, beginning with 1974's "Machine Gun" and concluding with 1985's "Nightshift." The only Top Ten R&B hits not included here are "Sail On," and a couple of later '80s cuts, so all the big funk jams ("Too Hot ta Trot," "Brick House," "Lady [You Bring Me Up],") and ballads ("Zoom," "Easy," "Three Times a Lady") are indeed included. This set also scores a little extra by including one of the band's best album cuts, 1976's "Girl, I Think the World About You," which has been ...
