On the Threshold of a Dream album for sale Product Description

On the Threshold of a Dream album for sale by Moody Blues was released May 20, 1997 on the Polydor label. Originally released on Deram (1035). On the Threshold of a Dream CD music Includes liner notes by John Reed. On the Threshold of a Dream buy CD music Where this album's predecessor IN SEARCH OF THE LOST CHORD dipped deeply into Eastern-flavored psychedelia, THRESHOLD is more of a straightforward rock record. Things open up experimentally enough, with a spoken-word vignette over electronic drones, but this leads straight into one of the Moodies' poppiest, most up-tempo songs, "Lovely to see You," which would remain a concert favorite for decades. On the Threshold of a Dream CD music contains a single disc with 13 songs.   ...See Full Description

This album is probably the Moodies all time best in my opinion. Every track is top-notch. The album's overall feeling is that of mellow, well-being. Justin's voice is melodious (as always) on "Never Comes the Day" "Send Me No Wine" has a fun, uplifting beat. Some people say "So Deep Within You" doesn't fit the Moodies and that it's all braggadocio but i disagree. If you really listen to those words, they're sweet and poetic. It's a far cry from most of the lyrics that are out there today. I think it's a real turn-on. It's hard to pick a fave, but if i had to, "Never" would win then maybe "Lazy Day" because it's just so true to life (if you're lucky).

The power of the studio
This album of the Moody Blues stated everything that they were about: a group that used the studo to make music that would be considered a "classical" take on rock music, without obviously copying either of them. And on this album, it feels just like a symphonic work of art, with rock'n'roll instrumentation. One of the greatest things about this album is that the production, while top-notch, was overblown, giving the songs a pompously bombast feeling that the group is deliberately going over the edge to push this album to the farthest it can possibly go. The result is absolutely amazing, and it makes it hard for some people to listen to the record because it doesn't pull any stops for anyone. Either you get it or you don't. This doesn't affect the quality of the music a whit. In fact, it gives it character and form. Sure, the production is an all-or-nothing effort, but it works. It just works, and for those who like it, they will never forget it.

Nothing short of a work of art
A tour de force, a masterpiece. One can run out of superlatives describing this fabulous album.

I feel very sorry for the reviewer who think's he wasted his money on this incredible disc. This and maybe the Beatles "abbey road",plus "Led Zeppelin II" are the best album's of the sixties era. This album didn't even have to grow on me like some other albums I have now come to love. "THRESHHOLD" is a album when your feeling kind of mellow, and want to kick back and relax for a while. Every song is a 10 on a scale of 1-10,but my favorite's are:"lovely to see you","so deep within you","never comes the day","are you sitting comfortably",and "send me no wine" I think every member of the group had a hand in writing at least one song. Usually when I hear people listing which "Moody Blues" albums they like most, this one isn't in the top four or five. I guess it all comes down to personal taste. I'm surprised this didn't win a Grammy Award, but I guess you need a few hits to get one of those. IN MY OPINION,DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT PASSING THIS ONE UP!!!!!!

Moody Blues Delight.
This was a wonderful little trip back into my bachelorhood, when the original version was played frequently in my household of single men. Extremely happy to find it available on the new CD version!
