As far as studio albums go, But Seriously Folks is Joe Walsh's most insightful and melodic. But Seriously Folks, released in 1978, was the album the Eagles should have made rather than the mediocre The Long Run. It captures a reflective song cycle along the same thematic lines of Pet Sounds, only for the '70s. The album's introspective outlook glides through rejuvenation ("Tomorrow," "Over and Over"), recapturing the simple pleasures of the past ("Indian Summer"), mid-career indecision ("At the Station," "Second Hand Store"), and a melancholy instrumental ("Theme From Boat Weirdos"). The disc's finale, "Life's Been Good," is a sarcastic and bittersweet ode to Walsh's "rock star-party guy" persona which reached the Top 10 on the pop charts and became a staple of FM rock radio. The only way But Seriously Folks could have been improved, was to include "In the City," essentially solo Walsh, which unfortunately ended up on The Long Run instead. ~ Al Campbell

5 stars Very listenable after 25 years!
I was graduating from H.S. when this album (now CD) came into my collection. The rhythms are classic Walsh, and Bill's production effort is up to par. After listening to this album many times, it turns out that, though "Life's Been Good" is, of course, a great tune, the others are always the ones I enjoy the most. Unlike so many other albums, I don't find myself skipping songs to find the more enjoyable ones. This can't even be said for "Hotel California", though I understand many would beg to differ (and this was a great album in its own right 28 years later as well). In "But Seriously, Folks", there is a combination of classic Walsh guitar coupled with somewhat folksy melodies that is a common thread in every song. The influence of other Eagles members is evident in most of the songs, but that influence never reaches the point of being overbearing or excessive. This CD will remain in my collection long after nearly all others are sold, given away, etc. To be enjoyed through and through!

5 stars The Burt Bachrach side of Joe...Seriously good...
While Joe Walsh was starting out with the Eagles, he always had time to put pen to paper, songs to lyrics and the result was always a refreshing sound... But Seriously is an album/CD that is filled with some of the best written work Joe has ever done...the songs are great, the production near perfection as the norm with a Joe Walsh effort...while Life's Been Good will always be the song connected to this album, Indian Summer, Second Hand Store, At The Station, Over and Over and Tomorrow are five of Joe's best written songs. Most would say Joe Walsh emerged as a great rocker with the release of So What...But Seriously was the album that demonstrated a serious side of writing that stills holds up. Enjoy!

5 stars Sublime. THis album resonates with me throughout my life!
I am 46. I first heard this album when I was 16. I have reflected on and hummed the tunes for all of my life since and will forever. A reflective and melancholic album, eg. Indian Summer. Thank you Joe for the happiness! Domo Arigato sensei! ;-)

5 stars can't go wrong with Joe
Again, another GREAT album by Joe. As always, Joe delivers fantastic and original songs and guitar work and as usual, the songs that arent' the radio favorites are the best. "At the Station" and "Indian Summer" are just as worthy of 5 stars as "Life's Been Good", which, by the way, still makes me feel good every time I hear it like it did when I was 15. Add Joe Vitale on drums and, well....gotta hear it for yourself.

Principally recorded at The Record Plant, Los Angeles, California; The Record Plant, Sausalito, California; The Record Plant, New York; Criteria Studios, Miami, Florida. Walsh's catalog by this point was two albums strong and of a consistently high quality. Despite a change of staff for So What -- a wide range of musicians are used, including the Eagles' Don Henley -- the sound is very similar to previous releases. A number of classic Joe Walsh tracks are featured including a more polished version of "Turn ...

The story of Oklahomo Trio begins in February 2004 in a snowy and cold Jönköping, Sweden where Ida and Henrik started messing around with a guitar and a dusty recording device. They moved to Prague shortly thereafter with an EP in their hands and scored a gig at the Alchemy in Nove Mesto. Here is a review of that show:“The highlight of this Monday’s Alchemy was definitely the Oklahomo Trio. OT ...
