Browne, usually the most introspective of singer-songwriters, looks outward on this album, more or less for the first time. Lives in the Balance songs Here, his lyrical evocations of the Reagan-era U.S.A. are less than flattering. The title song in particular uses a stinging indictment of our then-policy in Latin America as a metaphor for a larger spiritual void, and the dub reggae drenched "Till I Go Down," is a sort of one-man call to revolution. The album will surprise you with such a wide variety of songs. It showcases what a true talent Jackson Brown is.

One of Browne's bet EVER!
Although there are few tracks on the CD, eight to be percise, all of them are wonderful and fun to listen to.

excellent CD pure jackson browne
although this CD has a few political songs on it which are actually quite good. but the rest of the CD has some of jackson browne's best songs especially the last song!
