Faster Pussycat's self-titled debut is mostly Aerosmith boogie sleaze, glammed up by way of the fertile L.A. club scene. The band is somewhat similar to contemporaries Guns N' Roses, but with that band's urban grit and substance replaced by a Crüe-ish party-hearty attitude. The music is slick, but fun. ~ Steve Huey
Faster Pussycat: Taime Downe (vocals); Greg Steele, Brent Muscat (guitar, background vocals); Eric Stacy (bass, background vocals); Mark Michals (drums).
Additional personnel: Greg Darling (piano, background vocals); Riki Rachtman (scratches); Mitch Perry.
Faster Pussycat Music Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Great CD I had the album for this but decided to buy the CD anyway. Good stuff if you like '80s glam heavy metal. Not necessarily technical stuff, just fun. Submitted by sendtomf (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
the best glam release of all time This is one of the best albums ever released in the glam metal genre and my personal favourite. I have been listening to it since it's release date. I have even bought the tape twice after I wore my first one out. It's too bad Faster Pussycat's other recordings were never even close to being as good as this. buy it. An excellent debut from an overlooked band With their debut, Faster Pussycat come off as one of the sleaziest and groove filled-bands on the Sunset Strip, which is just what they are. The band tear through excellent pieces of pop rock/metal like Don't Change That Song, Cathouse, and the immortal Bathroom Wall. However, there are some mediocre songs on here, like the stupid Babylon, No Room For Emotion (it doesn't go anywhere), and Bottle In Front Of Me. Also, Taime doesn't have his voice under control yet (listen to Bottle In Front Of Me), and the production, while raw, is still lackluster. Still, this is a great debut from a band that never got the attention they deserved. Submitted by mcsavage (Pittsburgh, PA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

'its a long way from the bottom and a short drop from the top' - they found that out to their cost! Submitted by GlamGlamGlam (IREland) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Faster Pussycat songs
$8.69 By 1988, Kix had only managed to squeeze out three modest-selling records for Atlantic Records. Led in tandem by the endearing frontman Steve Whiteman and chief songwriter and bassist Donnie Purnell, for years, Kix would be unfairly categorized as a supposed "hair band." Worse still, Whiteman would later wake up to find his dancing-on-my-tippy-toes stage act (just think Steven Tyler meets Johnny Thunders on uppers) stolen and carbon copied for the masses by a host of other inferior frontmen including Poison's Brett Michaels. After playing the East Coast club circuit for ten-plus years (with little commercial success to show for it), Kix's own brand of infectious AC/DC power rock-meets-New York, black-hair-dye-glam would finally see its big payoff with the release of 1988's, Blow My Fuse. Produced by hard rock stalwart Tom Werman, Blow My Fuse may have proved to be the band's biggest-selling record but not necessarily its best. Featuring ten solid ...
| | Steelheart CD (1991)
Faster Pussycat album
$6.49 Possessing metal pipes like few before him, leonine Steelheart yelper Michael Matijevic scarred the airwaves forever when he hammered the simply unmatchable chorus of the hairball "I'll Never Let You Go": ludicrous and sublime, akin to Whitney Houston hitting the hot spot in "I Will Always Love You." The opening strands of "Everybody Loves Eileen" bring Ratt out of the cellar before the cut curls into a pop n' fresh roller coaster ride. The remainders on this ridiculous dish are also overlong examples of excess but not as memorable, paying ...

| | All That Remains This Darkened Heart CD (2004)
Faster Pussycat album
$9.85 Judging from just the first song on This Darkened Heart, one is tempted to immediately rank All That Remains among the top tier of current Swedish-influenced American hardcore-metal bands (and there are a lot of them). The dual-guitar interplay of Oli Herbert and Mike Martin is intricate and impressive, and their classically tinged riff-writing yields at least a slight distinction from their many At the Gates-influenced contemporaries. However, as early as the second track -- and again on several of the others -- they reveal their downfall in attempting to incorporate passages of melodic singing. It's a downfall they share with plenty of other bands in this genre. It would be a great idea to try this technique if these bands could pull it off tastefully, but All That Remains, like many of their counterparts, do not do so. The cleanly sung breakdowns on "Focus Shall Not Fail," "Tattered on My Sleeve," and the title track feel forced and are at times cringe inducing, sounding ...

"After nearly two decades in the entertainment industry these legendary performers continue to be among the most respected and talented vocalists in the business," said Orpheus President Beau Huggins, who, with Orpheus CEO and founder Charles Huggins, and its Vice-President, Charli Huggins, forecast major success for Meli'sa's hot new album. We're ready and committed to take them to the top of the charts again."Well on their way of doing so, personified by slick, first-class production, the powerhouse pair's consummate voices and raw emotional runs take "Back Together Again" to unbelievable new heights. With all due respect to Roberta and Donny, Meli'sa and Freddie make the timeless classic their own. We always wanted to record together, and judging by the awesome response the song is getting from fans, the press and radio, it clearly was the perfect choice."Radio's number #2 most added single the week of its official release, "Back Together Again" is just another example of Meli'sa's uncanny ability to make perfect song choices.
