Robert Smith pulled another surprise from his trick bag on WILD MOOD SWINGS, an amazingly fresh album for a band that at this point had been at it for over two decades. Here Smith's penchant for catchy melodies laid against song structures that build in intensity continues.
WILD MOOD SWINGS includes some of the most cheerful tunes Smith has ever penned, including the festive "Strange Attraction," punctuated with bells and ukuleles, and the jaunty joyride of "Mint Car." "The 13th" is perhaps the most original song on the album, its melody relying on a Spanish fanfare (the first extensive use of a horn section on a Cure song since 1987's "Hey You!"). WILD MOOD SWINGS is a solid collection.

Cure Wild Mood Swings Songs Wild Mood Swings Music Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) This should not be your first cure CD Start anywhere else but here. Too much pop. Not one of the cure best. I think must Cure fans would agree. Submitted by jayknoblock73 (Chandler, AZ) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Strange Attraction It took me a few days to get used to the songs on this album, because there's such a weird mix of the band's style of rocker songs (Club America), gloomy love songs (Bare,Jupiter Crash etc) strange pop songs (Mint Car) and an ode to mariachi bands? (13th)...saw them in concert when this album came out, and after that it just made me like the songs even more. Submitted by nuwaver74 (Miami,FL) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
More of the same, in a way... If you think that the band has separated from their "gloom" roots, just listen closely to the lyrics and the moods in which they are presented. You'll soon enough realize that once again the Cure has express yet another form that is true to their style. Wonderful, simply wonderful. Cured ? After 4 long years since their latest studio release (Wish, 1992), The Cure are back with a vengeance. Many have proclaimed the band dead, and a few stated they'd never record anything better than WISH... Sorry to spoil the party, but I disagree ! Wild Mood Swings (or WMS, for short) is yet another great gift. Robert Smith & his medics are proving once again that they still can deliever the goods. WMS is - as the title of the CD suggests - a swing of wild moods. From the bitterness of the opening track (WANT) to the jazzy 13TH, from the cynical humor of STRANGE ATTRACTION and JUPITER CRASH to the joyful MINT CAR, or the darkest feeling of broken love (TRAP), The Cure are experimenting with sonority and feelings. You'll never face the same emotion fron song to song. Get prepare to get your mood swing !!! Is this an album of maturity ??? Is the Cure's cured from their depressive approch toward life ? Well, I don't think so, and Doctor Robert seems to have plenty of tricks for us down his medical bag. WMS as the future sound of The Cure ? Why not ! Wild Mood Swings album

A remarkable four-disc set of B-sides and rarities, JOIN THE DOTS serves as a sort of alternate history for the Cure, one of the world's most beloved post-punk/alt-rock bands. Painstakingly compiled by Cure frontman (and the group's only constant member) Robert Smith, DOTS provides dozens of glimpses into the literal flip-side of their singles by collecting many long-lost tracks, including the classic songs previously featured only on the cassette version of STARING AT THE ...

Wild Mood Swings CD music
$10.85 Fifteen sides cut by the Sonics, two at their very first recording session for Etiquette Records circa late 1964, and 13 from the last session by the original lineup two years later.
