This is personally my favorite Metallica album! Though it's not metal, it still rocks! I knew that if Metallica were a great metal band, they would surely be an awesome rock band! The first 5 songs ("Fuel", "The Memory Remains","Devil Dance", "The Unforgiven II" and "Better Than You") are the best! Five solid radio hits in a row! The rest of the album is great too!

||A good cd, but I think we all expected more...|
The cd felt like it could have been by another band, it just didnt feel like metallica. It seems a new era of metallica had dawned with load and continued with reload, however Unforgiven II came out great. The band went in a different direction in music and in apperance, from long hair and black t-shirts bearing skulls to shorter slicked hair and sunglasses. Had a person picked up all the metallica cds right now, they might not notice much of a change, however the difference from Ride the Lightning and Reload is too much for an avid fan to take. None the less this album has some really good tracks, its the other ones that bring it down. Just as load has a few really awesoem tracks (bleeding me, cure, and hero of the day) it didnt have the style of Creeping death or anything like that. The cold feeling up your spine was absent, but a sense of badass took its place.
