Parental Advisory Imperial Music Review Average Rating: (4.7 out of 5 stars) Busta & Crew At Thier Best This is a sure fire banger from back in the days when Busta was still in his prime. All six ORIGINAL members appear on this disc, which is the best that they all appeared on. Submitted by bigchops8966 (Poughkeepsie, NY, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Capturing the best of 90's Hip Hop The Imperial is without doubt one of the most underated Hip Hop albums to be released in the 1990's. Its grimey east coast production coupled with raw and rugged lyrics encapsulate all that was golden from the 90's Hip Hop era. Busta Rhymes has allowed all the MC's to shine against the background of soon to be classic DJ Scratch beats and the great early beats of Swizz The Monster.
The highlights include "Cha Cha Cha", "Run for Cover" and "Everybody on the line Outside". This album is a must for all Hard Hip Hop fans...brilliant. Submitted by a reviewer (Central, London, UK) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Imperial: The title speaks for itselves Flipmode Squad is da illest crew since early Wu-tang.
Spliff Starr, Rah Digga, Busta Rhymes, Rampage, Baby Sham, and Lord have mercy all use their own skill. And all those together makes dreams come true.
The only thing I didn't like wuz dat Busta didn't put these cats out untill 9-8.

Lauryn Hill is far from miseducated, as her solo debut album proves. With both critical and popular acclaim from her affiliation with the Fugees, Lauryn uses THE MISEDUCATION OF LAURYN HILL to make a definitive individual statement. The focus here is love: love of self, love of her son, the love of her life, love of hip-hop. ...
| | Fat Joe Don Cartagena CD (1998)
Imperial songs
$8.79 DON CARTAGENA is the third release from the unofficial mayor of the Bronx, Fat Joe, and with the noise made by his rap twin Big Pun, Fat Joe and his Terror Squad MCs have set things off for Latinos in hip-hop. Since day one, Joe has kicked punishing lyrics over gangster-driven beats, and he stays true to his forte on DON as well. Collaborating with the likes of Noreaga, Nas, Raekwon and many others, Joe remains one of hip-hop's most street-credible ...
| | Canibus Can-I-Bus CD (1998)
Imperial album
$8.09 "When you look at me long enough/I start to read your thoughts/If your signal was strong enough/And then I call your bluff." Those words, along with the rest of Canibus' verse on the LL Cool J posse cut "4-3-2-1," sparked an intense battle between Canibus and LL. That battle led to Canibus' "2nd Round Knockout," a song directed at LL which not only dissed LL severely, but also showcased Canibus' incredible rhyming talent. Since then, the MC's debut album was highly anticipated.
His three-dimensional rhyme style gained Canibus critical acclaim for being one of the most innovative new MCs in hip-hop. With CAN-I-BUS, the debut album, Canibus delivers more of the battle-rhyme lyrics that are his stock in trade. Still, he manages to cover new ground with conceptually strong cuts like "I Honor U," which is dedicated to his mother. With his lyrical skills, Canibus represents the elements that helped build rap music.
"When you look at me long enough/I start to read your thoughts/If your signal was strong enough/And then ...
| | Dru Hill Enter The Dru CD (1998)
Imperial CD music
$10.59 On their sophomore effort, Sisqo, Nokio, Woody and Jazz drop another gem. Following up on their 1996 debut, ENTER THE DRU finds Dru Hill delivering the same cutting-edge R&B that has made them a worldwide success. Contributions from some of the most talented contemporary writers and producers make ENTER THE DRU a hard album to resist. Super-hitmaker Babyface co-wrote and co-produced the first single, "These Are the Times," while David Foster co-produced the Diane Warren ballad "What Do I Do With The Love." Wu-Tang's Method Man flips a verse on "This Is What We Do."
There are plenty of trademark Dru Hill ballads such as "One Good Reason," "I'll Be The One' and "What Are We Gonna Do." Be sure to check out the Daryl Simmons-produced "The Love We Had (Stays On My Mind)," which is a cover of a classic Dells song. With the huge success of their debut album, one can imagine the inherent ...
