| | Graham Nash Wild Tales CD Graham Nash Discography of CDs
(4 Customer Reviews)
Only Graham Nash's second solo album--he never recorded as many solo projects as his CSN&Y cohorts, instead preferring to work in duos and trios, most often with buddy David Crosby--1973's WILD TALES is nearly as strong as its predecessor, 1971's SONGS FOR BEGINNERS. Nash has the strongest pop instincts of any member of CSN&Y--he was the original lead singer for '60s pop gods the Hollies, after all--and like his debut, WILD TALES is a smartly-produced collection of catchy, low-key pop songs.
The overall vibe of WILD TALES slots in nicely with the growing California-rock ethos of the mid-70s; think Linda Ronstadt, the Eagles and Buckingham Nicks-era Fleetwood Mac. "And So it Goes" and "Another Sleep Song" are lovely minor-key ballads, but the true standout is the brilliant "Oh Camille (The Winter Soldier)," one of Nash's finest ever tunes.

Very good! I bought this record a week ago and i have been listening to it a couple of times. Everybody talks about " Songs for beginners" but i have to say i found this one to be just as good. The difference between this and a lot of other stuff that Graham has written is that it is a little bit heavier and a little bit darker. My favorite songs are " Prison song" and " Oh camil", i would rate those two among his best songs. But there are a lot of other songs here that are pretty good. Buy it! Wild Tales album
$11.29 Between 1970 and 1972, Stephen Stills was busy playing with Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, and working on a series of solo albums. In addition to all this activity he led the supergroup that appears on this stunning release. Originally a double album of four distinct sides, MANASSAS finds Stills and company (which includes friends and session musicians Chris Hillman, Dallas Taylor, and Al Perkins, among others) at the intersection of rock, folk, country, blues, and Latin flavors. Distinctive styles are noticeable song by song, yet the whole ...

| | Mike Bloomfield Super Session CD (1968) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Wild Tales music CDs
$6.75 A surprise best-seller when it was first released, this mostly improvised pairing of singer/keyboardist/producer Al Kooper with two major guitar heroes of the day sounds fascinating all these years later precisely because of the distance of time--nobody makes records like this any more. The material runs the gamut from folk pop (covers of Donovan and Dylan), to blues ("Albert's Shuffle," "You Don't Love Me"), to heady jams ("His Holy Modal Majesty"), to big-band jazz ("Harvey's Tune").
All the tunes make effective templates for the kind off-the-cuff music-making that in less capable hands might have resulted in simple noodling. In fact, although Bloomfield and Stills don't play together ...
| | Neil Young On The Beach CD (1974) Remastered
Wild Tales songs
$8.99 After working his way through loss and chaos on the brilliant TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT (recorded in 1973, but not released until 1975), Neil Young deftly exorcised any lingering demons with 1974's ON THE BEACH. The album opens with the saunter of the aptly titled "Walk On," followed by the utterly gorgeous, Wurlitzer-tinged "See the Sky about to Rain."
The set also features a trio of scathing songs--"Revolution ...
| | Very Best Of The Eagles CDs (1994) Remastered; Digipak
Wild Tales album
$20.25 THE VERY BEST OF includes a 46-page booklet with pictures and track information.
"Hole In The World" was nominated for the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal.
This 1994 greatest hits package (released in anticipation of the band's wildly successful reunion tour and album) supplants THEIR GREATEST HITS 1971-1975. It adds seven songs, but unfortunately deletes "Already Gone," one of their best rockers.
What's most interesting about THE VERY BEST OF THE EAGLES - apart from the presence of obviously classic songs like ...

Wild Tales songs
$12.95 Honeysuckle, the English release of 2005's Jelängerjelieber, is Klee's second album, and by the looks of it the band has learned the ropes. This album finds Klee once again taking a stab at club music hopped up on indie sensibilities, which leaves listeners with 12 tracks (15 if you count the German versions) split between pulsating club singles and smart, synthy pop numbers. "Gold," the first single off the album, is similar to the sultry, breathy dance stuff ...
| | Michael Nesmith Rays CD (2005)
Wild Tales album
$13.95 Michael Nesmith is a puzzling character. Over the years, he's been a folk singer, a television star and a teen idol with the Monkees, and an alt-country pioneer with his First National Band. Of course, most of that happened in the mid-'60s and early '70s. All these decades later, the erstwhile trailblazer seems as though ...
