| | Alice Cooper Welcome To My Nightmare CD Alice Cooper Discography of CDs
(4 Customer Reviews)
In 1975, Reuniting with longtime producer Bob Ezrin (who was absent for Cooper's prior record, MUSCLE OF LOVE), Cooper released an album whose title explains the subject matter--WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE. Now on his own and in total control, Cooper was able to explore rock theatrics in a way that was impossible in his band. The ensuing tour was one of the most over-the-top excursions of that era.
"Cold Ethyl" is a disturbing little ditty about necrophilia. The soft, melodic "Only Women Bleed" became a surprise smash for Alice, and there's a low-key feel as well on the chilling "Steven." The somewhat funky title track works as a kind of theme song, while Cooper's expected heavy metal tendencies are explored on "The Black Widow." Most of Lou Reed's band joined Cooper for this record. Guitarists Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner, as well as bassist Prakash John do a superb job of replicating the excitement of the original band.
After the band known as Alice Cooper broke up, the band's singer/namesake took the moniker on for his first solo album. Now on his own and in total control, Cooper was able to explore rock theatrics in a way that was impossible in his band. The ensuing tour was one of the most over-the-top excursions of that era.

| | Pete Malinverni Very Good Year CD (1999)
Welcome To My Nightmare
$13.79 Piano trios are not rare, and even exceptional pianists find great challenge in making them exciting. Malinverni, 41 years old at the time of this date, chooses to shade the mainstream jazz he plays in more subtle ways, punctuating the melodies with rich, lustrous elements of sound and swing. Bassist Dennis Irwin and drummer Leroy Williams are chosen to support the leader. They are more than merely adequate; in fact, they add their own professional sheen and brilliance to these eight tracks and six standards, two written by Malinverni. Malinverni plays in New York City clubs, but also has regular engagements -- Sunday mornings in church. His original romp ...

Welcome To My Nightmare
$13.89 The story of Brad Nowell could easily be compared to that of the late John Belushi. Nowell was a gifted artist who knew full well the dangers of excess. His promising life was tragically cut short by a drug overdose just as his career was hitting its stride. GREATEST HITS chronicles the short, sweet trip taken by Nowell and his comrades in Sublime.
Few bands in '90s pop were able to hop genres as seamlessly and with as much spirit ...
