Not only did Testament not suffer from the infamous sophomore slump on its second album, The New Order, but the band delivered its best offering ever. Order is every bit as brutally forceful as The Legacy, but the songs are even more memorable. Testament's outlook was still far from cheerful. Taking no prisoners either musically or lyrically, the headbangers embrace morbid gothic themes on such bombastic treasures as "Trial by Fire," "Disciples of the Watch," and "Into the Pit." And Testament's cover of Aerosmith's "Nobody's Fault" is one of the band's finest accomplishments. For those purchasing their first Testament album, Order is the ideal choice. ~ Alex Henderson

Testament New Order Songs New Order Music Review Average Rating: (4.7 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews NICE!!! "The New Order" is beautiful thrash metal. It lacks the lightning speed of its predessesor, but even the mid-tempo tracks are heavy enough to inspire headbanging. It's also cleaner, more thoughtful and more disciplined. Clemente's drumming, however, is sub-standard, lacking in double-bass work and variation. There are a couple of uninspiring duds on this one, too. But an overall good mix of melody, gruffness, crunch and speed make this a really smooth thrasher. Like the artwork on the cover, it's a dark and majestic album. Submitted by nychro7 (D.C. Testament's Finest! After their awesome debut, Testament outdid themselves with this album! The riffs are awesome, Chuck Billy roars, yells, and sings his heart out, Alex Skolnik lays down some excellents solos, and the band tear through thrash classics like the title track, Into The Pit, and Disciples of the Watch with skill, speed, and deft songwriting. Also, an excellent cover of Aerosmit's Nobody's Fault is thrown in for good measure. A thrash classic, necessary for any fan of the genre. Turn This Up........Way Up! This is the album where Testament finds their true sound. Clean, fast guitars, solid beats and a great voice. A metal classic and a definate must have. Submitted by Russ (Newmarket, Canada) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
"Great album" This is my first Testament album and it rules! Alex skolnick is one of thrash's best guitarists (My chum says he looks French!!) And Chuck Billy has got a good thrashy voice. The songs on hear are all great and some highlights are Eerie inhabitants, The new order and the children of the corn inspired disciples of the watch. The only flaw is Louie Clementes Boring drumming no double bass at all!! Aside from that this rules and testament deserved a lot better than they friggin got thrash fans should all own this corker. New Order album
$7.39 Much like the English punk movement before it, the New Wave of British Heavy Metal invaded hundreds of American garages in the early '80s and launched countless bands across the nation. It is interesting to note, however, that while in major cities with thriving punk rock this phenomenon manifested itself in the form of thrash metal (for example, L.A.'s Metallica, New York's Anthrax), in secondary capitals, up-and-coming bands generally boasted a more mainstream metal approach. Such was the case with Phoenix's Armored Saint, Connecticut's Fates Warning, and Seattle's ...

New Order songs
$9.29 The first album Testament recorded without producer Alex Perialas, Souls of Black unites the thrashers with the better-known Michael Rosen. With Perialas having served Testament so well, many headbangers wondered how great an impact this change would have on the unit. But they needn't have worried -- Testament sounds very much like it did on its three previous ...
| | Testament Low CD (1994)
New Order album
$8.39 Testament singer Chuck Billy sounds like Metallica's James Hetfield crossed with Zul, the demon that inhabited Sigourney Weaver in "Ghostbusters." His rumbling, throat-ripping wail is sometimes so low and unearthly you can forget you're listening to a mere record.
Which may be what Testament intends. LOW is as much a barrage of political messages as it is a thrashy metal album, with bleak, impassioned tirades about war, child abuse, false gods and other such things. "Legions (In Hiding)" warns, in blunt metal-ese, that abused children will grow into abusive adults: "The damaged will learn/To keep spinning wheels of abuse." "P.C.," an all-encompassing editorial against government and big business, urges "resistance now or nevermore."
Of course, like any self-respecting shredders, Testament is also a tightly-wrapped high-decibel army, equally capable of an oddity like the thrash-jazz-funk ...
| | Exodus Fabulous Disaster CD (1989)
New Order CD music
$7.99 After years struggling for recognition while watching their peers achieve fame and fortune, Bay Area mainstays Exodus had every reason to be dejected when they re-grouped in 1989 to record their third album Fabulous Disaster. Still, they went on to create their most diverse and carefully conceived effort yet, while remaining faithful to their no-frills thrash ethic. But while the album represented the realization of their vision, as well as their commercial peak, it still failed to gain them their well-deserved place alongside such thrash metal giants as Metallica, Anthrax and Slayer. After a random spoken word intro, opener "The Last Act of Defiance" quickly sets the frenzied pace, taken a step further by the title track's highly amusing apocalyptic vision. Both songs also showcase the amazingly fast feet and incomparable fills of Tom Hunting -- the only human capable of challenging Slayer's Dave Lombardo for bragging ...

New Order songs
$18.99 When you think of 'grassroots' and 'down to earth', you don't normally think of a movie star. You especially don't think of a movie star the caliber of Jeff Daniels. Yet that is exactly what Jeff has accomplished with his second CD release, 'Grandfather's Hat'.With the follow-up album to 'Live and Unplugged,' Daniels has proven that he is not an actor who sings, but an accomplished singer/songwriter who's musical talent does not require the support of his acting. Further proof of his talent is supported by the musicians Daniels has performed with over the last couple of years. Although it took him some time to feel comfortable on stage behind his guitar, Daniels' confidence has matured with his songwriting, being invited onstage to perform a few songs with legends Lyle Lovett, John Haitt, and Guy Clark, during their rare 'Songwriters' tour. Having his pal Keb Mo' join Jeff on stage was equally rewarding (Jeff calls it a 'free guitar lesson'). From time to time he's also been fortunate to expand his shows to sold out venues outside of Michigan. 'Grandfather's Hat' showcases Daniels' range as a songwriter, from the laugh out loud humor of 'Have a Good Life (Then Die)' to the quiet poignant lyrics of 'Middle Of The Night'. His honest, sincere and relatable approach to the songs on the CD remind us of our own lives, hopes and dreams. A Michigan native, Daniels never forgets his roots. The rowdy rendition of 'Detroit Train' with guest artist, Alto Reed, saxophonist with Bob Seger's 'Silver Bullet Band,' is a fun, energetic, rock and roll tribute ...
