Bad Company launched a major comeback in 1988 with Dangerous Age. It wasn't the original lineup, lacking Paul Rodgers, but Mick Ralphs was still on board, and he could still turn out some pretty solid numbers, like the title track and "One Night." The album also suffers from a slick, late-'80s AOR production, but compared to some of the albums that came later, Dangerous Age was satisfying. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine In the mid/late-'80s, the rock scene was hard to decipher. With an over-saturation of new bands either aping Led Zeppelin's boogie woogie metal or glam pop candy, older rock fans were left scratching their heads in bewilderment. Lucky for them, such classic rock bands as Bad Company made strong returns, as proven by 1988's DANGEROUS AGE. Like the band's other '80s recordings, the songs are slightly more commercial than their grittier '70s output, with such titles as "No Smoke Without A Fire" and the title track being highlights.
Bad Company Dangerous Age Songs Dangerous Age Music Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) Brian Howe Rocks ! Gotta say.. after having lived with Bad Co's "new" singer as he was back in the mid 80's for 20 yrs now...gulp Brian Howe still stands up as one hell of a replacement for Paul Rogers!! His singing is straight out of Foreigner's Lou Gramms book of chops... and the song writing on this and all other Howe/Bad Co albums is always hook laden, catchy, melodic, yet still hard rockin... thanks to the songwriting and producing talents of Mr Thomas..who co wrote most of em with Brian. Check out all of Bad Co's output with this line up..4 studio, and one live CD.. magic!! Submitted by neilo.tudor (Merseyside England) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
AWESOME! Bad Company's new 1988 singer Brian Howe really did the job!!! This album is pure heavy-hard rock!!! The epic tracks "One Night" and "No Smoke Without A Fire" are all about the heaviness of rock'n'roll!!! The title track also packs a heavy punch! I'd have to say that this is Bad Company's best album!!! If not, it's their best album with Brian Howe! Rock on!!!!!!! (Check out 1990's "Holy Water" too)!!! Bad Company - Dangerously Large Ego 'Dangerous Age', that's their title of this second post-Paul Rodgers effort? Hey, guys - PLEASE don't flatter yourselves! This CD is okay, with the better cuts being the catchy "No Smoke Without A Fire" and "Rock Of America". At least with this line-up of Bad Company, former vocalist Brian Howe is able to do endless solo tours of tiny clubs, thus living off his days with Mick Ralphs and co. Surprising While I am a huge fan of the more bluesy early Bad Company, I remember back in the late 80's of news of a new singer. I thought there was no way they'd be able to pull it off without Rodgers. I guess they showed me. This is one of my favorite Bad Company CD's.
The whole cd rocks and becomes addicting. you'll find yourself listening over and over again. Submitted by Brenda (Va Beach, VA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Dangerous Age
$12.95 This special edition will contain a slipcover of brand new cover art. The package contains a bonus DVD with exclusive footage. Additionally the CD will contain more previously unreleased bonus tracks.
This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Los Lonely Boys: Henry Garza (vocals, guitar); JoJo Garza (vocals, bass guitar); Ringo Garza (vocals, drums). Additional personnel: John Porter, Willie Nelson (acoustic guitar); Reese Wynans (piano, organ); Diego Simmons (percussion). Los Lonely Boys are another entry into the rock & roll family band tree. The Garza brothers -- Henry, Jojo, and Ringo (yes, that is his real name and he is the drummer) -- like the Everlys, the Louvins, the Davies (Ray and Dave), the Youngs (Malcolm and Angus), and many others, are forging a new sound from the various roots traditions in American music. Rooted in rock & roll basics such as Chuck Berry, the Beatles, and Ritchie Valens and the Latin rhythm-inspired sounds created by the Santana band, the brothers Garza, who hail from San Angelo, TX, also employ the wondrously soulful and raw Tex-Mex textures created by Doug Sahm and Freddy Fender. Los Lonely Boys' self-titled debut on the Or label was recorded at Willie Nelson's Pedernales Studio in Austin and features Nelson and Reese Wynans guesting on guitar and keyboards respectively on "La Contestacion." But there is plenty to the sound of Los Lonely Boys; their stew is one rich not only in history, but energy, songwriting craft, fine singing, and amazing playing -- check Henry's riffing, phrasing, and soloing on "Crazy Dreams" and one might think the ghost of Stevie Ray Vaughan is visiting Albert King's. "Dime Mi Amor," with its funky minor-key chord voicings dredged through a solid Latin rock structure with shimmering son rhythms and conjunto backbeats, is stunning in its complexity, yet is as accessible as any pop song. Driven by Henry's fluid and floral acoustic work and shot through with a soulful Tex-Mex backbeat and vocal harmonies that touch upon the originality of Cesar Rosas' and David Hidalgo's from Los Lobos as well as the Everlys, "Hollywood" is not merely a referencing of source material, but a genuine way of combining ...
