Synthesizers were pushed more up front for Foreigner's 1984 release, AGENT PROVOCATEUR, and it scored the band another monster hit. Just about every radio-oriented rock band of the mid-80's took the synth plunge at one point or another (with varying degrees of success), but Foreigner did not foresake their talent for penning anthemic love songs and rockers. This was proven by one of their biggest all-time hits, the ballad "I Want to Know What Love Is," which also turned out to be one of the year's top singles as well, while "Love in Vain" and "That was Yesterday" proved that the boys could still rock with the best of them.
Digitally remastered by Ted Jensen.

Foreigner Agent Provocateur Songs Agent Provocateur Music Review Average Rating: (3.8 out of 5 stars) Could it be bad? We are talking about Foreigner not some cheesy pop band. This is as good as any Foreigner album-Highlights are That was Yesterday and Love in Vain. Check it out!!! Submitted by jsonoqui (Sunny So Cal) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Foreigner good as always!! What is wrong with You guys? This is a fine album with only good songs on it. We all remember "I Wanna Know What Love Is", but rockers like "Reaction To Action" and "Stranger in my own House" are so cool. "Down on Love" is my favourite ballad on this album. Anyway it took Foreigner 4 years to make this album, and it is not quite as good as "4". Submitted by Whitesnake (Denmark) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
downward spiral 2 good sons on this and the rest is pop ballad stuff, music sounds good but its sell oot music.that was yesterday is the highlight, reaction is good and tooth and nail aint bad either. overall the end of the band as we know them...this was actually a hard to find cd , but as always cd universe always comes through.

A pretty poor effort even though it sold pretty well By the time they put this album out, they musically were going down the hill fast. The only reason anybody should buy this disc,is for the songs "That was yesterday",and "I want to know what love is",but really you can get these songs from the disc "VERY BEST AND BEYOND" if you want. If I remember right they had a song called "tooth and nail",which sucks big-time. Some of the tracks like that, rock real hard, but are nothing like their late 70's material. I JUST CAN'T RECOMMEND THIS DISC. Submitted by Mark (Wichita,KS,USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Agent Provocateur
$15.39 The late Ella Fitzgerald is rightly recognized as one of America's greatest singers--jazz or otherwise--and her appeal spans decades and generations; in Duke Ellington's words, she is "beyond category." Her elegant, crystal-clear phrasing and joyous, persuasive sense of swing made her a favorite of Ellington, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, and many others. VERY BEST OF THE SONGBOOKS presents a sampling of Ella's finest recordings as she interprets classic American standards as only she can, with assistance from some of the finest musical arrangers America has ever produced--Nelson Riddle, Billy May, and the Duke, among them. VERY BEST OF THE SONGBOOKS is a nice introduction for those not yet ready to indulge in each of Ella's specific songbook albums, but a cursory listen to what's on offer here should send any listener right back to the record shop to pick up what they've been missing for so long. This is timeless stuff.
