Landmarks album for sale Product Description
Landmarks album for sale by Clannad was released Nov 04, 2002 on the Atlantic label. LANDMARKS finds Clannad continuing to merge the rich musical tradition of Ireland with lush orchestrations and modern instrumentation. Landmarks CD music Synthesizers and electric guitars provide an unusual but engaging backdrop to the airy, reverb-soaked vocals of Maire Brennan and the rich assortment of acoustic sounds. The tender Irish language song "Fado" starts with a sparse acoustic arrangement and expands gradually, adding percussion, flute, and Brennan's distinctive double-tracked harmonies, without ever losing its ominous groove. Landmarks CD music contains a single disc with 10 songs. ...See Full Description

 | Wonderful! My only prior experience with Clannad was Lore, which is an excellent CD in my opinion. However, this one blows it away! The vocals are lovely, and the mixture of Irish lyrics with modern beats is fantastic. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys good music. By a reviewer (Texas) |
| in the line of expectations like their previous albums they stay in line with same kind of music never the less this is big time one of the best irish bands ever By letterfromhome (belgium) |
| A Masterpiece! A great CD! I like everything about this & was very happy for the Grammy they won for this. The only one of theirs' that I think is better is ANAM. I actually feel Maire is a better singer than her sister....What's her name? Enya. Clannad really makes wonderful music! Can't wait till they release a new one.....Please hurry up, it's been 5 years ago that this came out! By a reviewer (New Berlin, WI) |
| Above and beyond new age.., To call this "new age" music is largely insulting. This is a richly textured and beautifully crafted blend of vocals and instrumentals. Clannad has a true mastery of the neo-celtic formula that has become part of the grand scope of their prolific career. Forget the fact that most of us don't understand gaelic (a majority of the lyrics here) the music is fascinating and wonderful to listen to. One of their best albums gets a high recommendation from someone that doesn't take any particular interest in the empty and masturbatory new-age music genre. This is above and beyond.
