This special edition of TALK ON CORNERS features several remixes and tracks previously not included on the album. The Corrs: Andrea Corr (vocals, tin whistle); Jim Corr (guitar, accordion, keyboards, programming); Sharon Corr (violin, background vocals); Caroline Corr (drums, bodhran, background vocals). Additional personnel includes: The Chieftans, Paddy Moloney, David Foster. Producers: David Foster, Oliver Leiber, Jim Corr, Glen Ballard, John Hughes. Recorded at The Bunker, Wrexham, Wales. The Corrs: Andrea Corr (vocals, tin whistle); Jim Corr (guitar, accordion, keyboards, programming); Sharon Corr (violin, background vocals); Caroline Corr (drums, bodhran, background vocals). Songs on the Corrs' Talk on Corners fly inoffensively past the window like scenery on a drive through the countryside, with two pretty singers at the wheel. This essentially Irish sister act (with Corr group Andrea, Caroline, and Sharon on vocals, drums, and violin, respectively, and brother Jim on guitar and keyboards) legitimately brings to mind comparisons with another family-based girl group, Wilson Phillips, particularly since the impulses and instincts are truly pop and not so much alt-traditional Celtic (as they are often cited to be). This timely record documents a high-riding point for the Corrs by re-releasing newly mixed versions of "What Can I Do?" and "So Young," both highly compressed digital productions featuring their trademark glass voices and barely discernible acoustic musical instruments. Also on the record: "Queen of Hollywood," "Runaway," "No Good for Me," and their huge international hit ballad "I Never Loved You Anyway." The best and most spirited Celtic cut is "Little Wing," deliciously resting on the contributions of the dropping-by Chieftains. Each and every cut sounds wired for radio play; unlike the less Americanized, riskier Cranberries, the Corrs should enjoy a career as nicely sustained as some of the girls' best musical notes. ~ Becky Byrkit The Corr family's music hit big in Europe before making it's way to America, so the U.S. label folks had a little time to prepare something special for the American release of TALK ON CORNERS. Consequently, the U.S. edition of the album contains songs not included on the original European album, as well as additional remixes of some of the tunes. The Corrs' mixture of contemporary pop with traditional Irish influences is certain to appeal to audiences in both camps. Any album that features guest appearances from both David Foster and the Chieftains is bound to have some serious cross-market appeal. The Corr siblings are no instrumental slouches either, and their tasty contributions on traditional pop/rock instruments (as well as tin whistle, bodhran, etc.) are the foundation of the genre-defying construct that is TALK ON CORNERS.Rolling Stone (1/4/99, pp.94-95) - 3 Stars (out of 5) - "...this is a high flying reintroduction to some blue chip popsters..." Q (9/99, p.137) - Included in Q Magazine's Best Happy Albums of All Time - "...overall the mood is one of springlike amiability." | | Chingy Powerballin CD (2004) (Import) United Kingdom
Talk On Corners
$24.95 Licentious rapper Chingy lays it out on this full length album, with tracks like "Haters 101" and "Balla Baby." The British import edition includes three extra tracks. CD contains 3 bonus tracks. Delivered a little over a year after the multi-platinum debut, Powerballin' initially comes across as an attempt to position Chingy closer to the street and further away from pop. However, it eventually becomes apparent that the album is not much different in scope from Jackpot. Apart from further emphasis on fame and riches -- as indicated by the addition of one more vehicle, three women, and a lot more jewelry on the otherwise similar cover -- what separates this from the debut is the smaller number of effective hooks. So, in effect, it seems less pop-oriented. The Trak Starz are on board again, but they share a good amount of the production duties with a couple newcomers. David Banner produces and Nate Dogg assists on "All the Way to St. Lou," unsurprisingly one of the best tracks on the album. ~ Andy Kellman Delivered a little over a year after his multi-platinum debut, Powerballin' initially comes across ...

Talk On Corners
$5.49 Bob Lanoue has been playing music for most of his life, from Led Zeppelin to Nat King Cole. Since the beginning of the Bush regime, a powerful rage has been building inside him. A chance remark by another performer at a coffee house about the lack of protest songs was just the catalyst he needed to write this song and release six years of pent-up rage. It is a powerful, soulful, passionate call to action! On YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=delanocriesEXCERPT:In a horrible nightmare a band begins to play. The music is frightening but the crowd begins to sway. Its an evil dark circus in the middle ...
