In Through the Out Door album Product Description
In Through the Out Door album by Led Zeppelin was released Aug 16, 1994 on the Atlantic (Label) label. The last proper Led Zeppelin album shows the group's response to punk's encroachment to be a regal shrug and a continuation of the outsized heavy rock that made the band a legend. In Through the Out Door songs There are a few interesting stylistic detours--the almost salsa-like piano that drives "Fool in the Rain," the country-flavored hoedown of "Hot Dog"--but for the most part this is 1970s rock in the grandest style. In Through the Out Door album John Paul Jones in particular struts his stuff here, his synthesizer powering "Carouselambra," Zeppelin's furthest excursion into prog rock, and sweetening "All My Love," a balladic requiem for Robert Plant's late son, Karac. Zeppelin sounds so assured on IN THROUGH THE OUT DOOR it's hard to believe the end of the band was just around the corner. | A Difficult Door Of Perception I love all of led Zeppelin's works, even when the band occasionally stumbles. "In Through The Out Door" unfortunately is their weakest effort. Jimmy Page's contribution seems to have been so diluted (especially when taking into account his work on the preceding "Presence") that he appears to be a side musician. John Paul Jones' keyboards dominates this album, and although he is not a bad musician...far from it...he functions best behind Page not in front of him. This misstep is a very poor closing chapter on a magnificent rock aggregation. Going back in through the out door is indeed a daunting task, akin to cutting a formidable Gordian Knot. The album title is extremely appropriate. By Will-T (Lawrenceburg IN) |
| A Cool Change Of Pace Although Not Whole Lotta Love Or Stairway To Heaven. I Really Enjoy When A Band Goes Outside Of The Box And Really Explores Different Avenues. Don't Think I Will Remove It From My Collection Because Of A Few Bad Reviews By Stratmagik (Beckley WV. USA) |
| Very Experimental Album Incredible job, the first time I listen to it, I couldn't belive how Zeppelin grown musically, we all know they are great musicians but this album have many different kinds of music, from jazz, blues, rock, folk, and some Latin music too, my favorite song I would probably say is "All of My Love" however, is very difficult to choose one cause all tracks are very impressive, this is one of my favorite Zeppelin albums, maybe because of the time I was living in my personal life, and also because it was last Zeppelin studio album. | Great Listen A quality album from the Zeppo's, quite different to earlier stuff, but if you are a true Led Zeppelin fan then this album you should love. Listen for 'In the Evening' and 'Carouselambra.' By ben_benno87 (Sunshine Coast, Australia) |
