An odds-and-sods collection assembled after John Bonham's death, Coda is predictably a hit-or-miss affair. The best material comes from later in Led Zeppelin's career, including the ringing folk stomp of "Poor Tom," the jacked-up '50s rock & roll of "Ozone Baby," and their response to punk rock, the savage "Wearing and Tearing." The rest of the album -- sadly including the Bonham showcase "Bonzo's Montreux" -- is average, despite the presence of some stellar playing, especially on the early blues-rock blitzkrieg "I Can't Quit You Baby" and "We're Gonna Groove." ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
John Bonham's death in 1980 made the previous year's IN THROUGH THE OUT DOOR the last album Led Zeppelin would record together, but two years after his passing, the faithful were still hungry for more. Hence the release of this previously unreleased material from the Zeppelin archives. Kicking off with an equal mix of swing and crunch on Ben E. King's "We're Gonna Groove," CODA showcases the less grandiose side of Zeppelin, also casting a backward glance toward the band's roots with a reverential treatment of Willie Dixon's "I Can't Quit You Baby" from a 1970 rehearsal.
Much of CODA is comprised of outtakes from the IN THROUGH THE OUT DOOR sessions. "Ozone Baby" bobs and weaves with punky vigor, and "Darlene" grooves along with John Paul Jones's piano as the rudder. The grinding power of the stop-start rhythms on "Wearing and Tearing" ably displays Zeppelin's might, and the instrumental "Bonzo's Montreux" offers a rare glimpse into Bonham's percussive range, revealing his irreplaceable role and clearly demonstrating why the band broke up after his death.

5 stars Coda - their last, I don't think so.
The Song Remains The Same was used. Swan Song became their label. Coda works for me, I see the trend of wording. They did their songs beautifully, even if this is like a films 'cutting room floor' stuff. This does not take away from the love I have for this band and I always will, but they should have been proud of their idols and should have mentioned who wrote most of their earlier songs, like Willy Dixon, Albert King and Howlin' Wolf.

4 stars True Zep Fans Will like it
If you are truly a fan of Led Zeppelin, then you will like (if not love) this disc. I bought it when it was first released and found songs on it that belong with their greatest hits (Bonzo's Montreaux is incredible). Any person that wrote a bad review of this Is either not a fan of the group, a wanna be music critic, or both. Buy it!

5 stars One of Zep's Stongest !!!!!
What most people do not understand about this album is that it contains material that was recorded at various times in Led Zeppelin's mighty reign. This album isnt regarded as the best by the remaining band members b/c it was a time of great grief for the band. Bonzo did an exellent job on the material of this album. I would really recommend this album to the rock fanatic. being a drummer , this is the last works of rock's most powerful drummer

A superstar in his native U.K., Robbie Williams hadn't reached a mainstream audience in the U.S. at the time of this 2004 compilation's release, a fact made bewildering by the slew of undeniably catchy, well-crafted pop songs on hand. While the sleek "Millennium" and the cheeky "Rock DJ" display the former Take That member's refreshingly sophisticated sonic sensibilities, the ballad "Angels" proves that his slightly raspy voice can also project plenty of emotion. For the uninitiated, this is an excellent crash course in Williams's late-1990s/early-00s material.

Indigo Girls had sort of boxed themselves into the corner during the late '90s. They had become pop culture icons, as known for their politics as their music. Unfortunately, being in such a position meant their music had gotten a little stale, as the good but predictable Shaming of the Sun illustrated. The duo seized the opportunity to experiment and redefine their music with 1999's Come on Now Social. Amy Ray and Emily Saliers invited a host of guest musicians -- including Sheryl Crow, Joan Osborne, Me'Shell Ndegeocello, Natacha Atlas, Sinéad O'Connor's backing band Ghostland, the Band's Garth Hudson, and Luscious Jackson's Kate Schellenbach -- to contribute to their most eclectic set of songs to date. Yes, they had a full, even prog rock sound ...
