Just a year after the release of the first posthumous Jim Croce collection, 1974's PHOTOGRAPHS & MEMORIES (and only two years after his tragic passing), a second Croce best of set saw the light of day, 75's DOWN THE HIGHWAY. While it covers much of the same ground as PHOTOGRAPHS, this second set contains several songs that slipped through the cracks on the first collection, most noticeably one of Croce's most underrated yet best compositions ever, "Walkin' Back To Georgia." Other highlights making their first appearance on a Croce collection are "Mississippi Lady," "Which Way Are You Goin'," "Box #10," "Alabama Rain," and the "Chain Gang Medley." In addition, you'll also find such well-known fan favorites as the humorous "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" and "You Don't Mess Around With Jim," as well as the more serious "I Got A Name" and "New York's Not My Home."
All tracks have been digitally remastered.

Blood, Sweat & Tears includes: David Clayton-Thomas, Al Kooper, Steve Katz.
Digitally remastered by Chris Athens (Sony Music Studios, New York, New York).
An expanded, remastered version of the group's original 1972 compilation. With two extra songs and all the familiar hits restored to their original album version lengths (as opposed to the radio-edit single versions), pound for pound, this is probably the best single-disc Blood Sweat & Tears hits package available.
GREATEST HITS includes representative tracks from every phase of the band's career. Two tracks--the James Brown inspired "I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know," and the addictive "I Can't Quit Her," are from the group's original Al Kooper-led incarnation, while two overlooked songs--"So Long Dixie" and "More and ...
| | Sheryl Crow Tuesday Night Music Club CD (1993)
Down The Highway CD music
$11.49 "All I Wanna Do" won 1995 Grammy Awards for Record Of The Year and Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female; and Sheryl Crow won the Grammy for Best New Artist. "All I Wanna Do" was also nominated for Song Of The Year.
With her gruff, edgy delivery and sweet, seductive timbre, singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow evokes comparisons to tough yet tender blues-rockers like Bonnie Raitt, Lou Ann Barton and Angela Strehli. But Sheryl Crow is too talented to be plugged into any one stylistic bag. TUESDAY NIGHT MUSIC CLUB is a striking debut recording, teeming with the kind of musical curiosity all too rare in contemporary pop--all animated by Crow's remarkable storytelling skills.
From the Beatles overtones of her freedom cry "Run Baby Run" to the sweet pedal-steel inflected gospel of "I Shall Believe," Sheryl Crow brings a post-modern country sensibility to ...

Down The Highway music CDs
$12.59 "If It Makes You Happy" won a 1997 Grammy for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance.
"Everyday Is A Winding Road" was nominated for a 1998 Grammy for Record Of The Year.
Since crashing the gates with 1993's TUESDAY NIGHT MUSIC CLUB, Sheryl Crow's brand of melodic pop has won her some Grammys and kept her constantly on the road. On the followup album, the one-time background singer retains her sweet delivery laced with gruff edges, while painting her sunny sound with darker shadings. Quirky characters and situations continue to inhabit Crow's songs, whether it's holy rollers and government conspirators ("Maybe Angels") or a homeless evangelist proselytizing outside ...

1976's A NEW WORLD RECORD is both a classic of commercial '70s pop and an archetypal ELO album. From the outer-space synths and rich orchestrations that open the album to Jeff Lynne's meticulous production and Beatlesque melodies, A NEW WORLD RECORD is magnificent ear candy. ...

Indie-rock bands come and go (sometimes very quickly), but few have developed such long and inventive careers as Yo La Tengo. Since the mid-1980s, Hoboken, New Jersey's finest have been perfecting their restless sound just across the Hudson River from the ever-fashionable music mecca of New York City. From this small distance, the group (founded by the husband/wife team of vocalist/guitarist Ira Kaplan and vocalist/drummer Georgia Hubley) started out appropriating the sounds of revered NYC bands, particularly the ...
