Personnel: George Benson (vocals, guitar); Mike Mainieri (vibraphone); Ronnie Foster, Greg Phillinganes, Jorge Dalto (keyboards); Earl Klugh, Phil Upchurch (guitar); Will Lee, Stanley Banks, Robert Popwell, Jr. (bass); Steve Gadd (drums); Ralph MacDonald (percussion). The success of Weekend in L.A. no doubt prompted producer Tommy LiPuma and Warner Bros. to give George Benson another double album (now on one CD) -- and this, like its three Warner predecessors, also went Top Ten. It is also, alas, slicker, more romantic in mood, and more bound by perceptions of formula than the others, fussed over in three different studios in earnest search of another hit single (the dance-tempo cover of L.T.D.'s "Love Ballad"). Most of the touring band, including Ronnie Foster, Ralph MacDonald and Phil Upchurch, is back, and Claus Ogerman's soft symphonic touch provides most of the backdrops, with Mike Mainieri supplying the orchestra on three tracks. Even at this point, the great guitarist is still given much room to burn -- the balance between instrumentals and vocals remains close -- and Benson comes up with some tasty stuff when the rhythm section pushes him on "Nassau Day" and "You're Never Too Far from Me." Ultimately there is just enough jazz content amid the velvet soul to keep guitar buffs interested. ~ Richard S. Ginell George Benson plays the guitar so well that jazz fans find evidence that he still cares even amidst the most disposable string- and synth-laden offerings. Case in point: while Benson would just as soon lay down his axe altogether to croon Goffin and King's "Hey Girl" on LIVIN' INSIDE YOUR LOVE, on the next cut, keyboardist Ronnie Foster's "Nassau Day," he turns around and plays with the same great tone, articulation, timing and flow of ideas he's always demonstrated. And why should the guy live on what the average jazzman makes if they'll pay him to surround himself with strings and keep the tunes simple? Twenty years ago, fans of Benson's tough, muscular synthesis of bop, blues and post-bop ideas screamed "sellout" over his success with "On Broadway" and "This Masquerade." Today we know better, because we have another name for it--smooth jazz. George Benson Livin' Inside Your Love Songs Livin' Inside Your Love Music Review Average Rating: (4.8 out of 5 stars) The Funky George! George Benson during his great, funky years of the mid seventees: groovy, up-tempo instrumentals with amazing George playing great guitar sounds are smoothly blended with jazzy, romantic pop songs. George surrounded himself with the best possible musicians: Harvey Mason, Phil Upchurch, Ralph McDonald and the phenomonal Jorge Dalto on piano/keyboards. Although recorded 25 years ago, this album is really timeless: still great stuff. Welcome Into My World! Submitted by Marc (Netherlands) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
My favourite George Benson Album If you're a fan of George Benson's more recent albums you may not have bothered with his earlier offerings, but they're well worth a listen. George made some excellent music back in the seventies with albums such as 'In flight', Breezin' and 'Give me the night'. But my favourite has to be this one 'Livin' inside your love' which came out as a double LP, so it's quantity as well quality. Buy it!

one of my favourites of all time.. introduced to this album via a friend otherwise wouldn't have known about it in uk... the intro living inside your love track breezes along beautifully but then you are hit with the totally passionate vocal on HEY GIRL where george sounds like he's on his knees begging.. fantastic.. the final track UNCHAINED MELODY has such a beautiful intro and then soaring, emotional vocal that it can bring tears to my eyes.. its the best version of that song i've ever heard and makes me tingle.. everybody i've ever played it to loves it ...

George Benson...Jazz Guru I used to listen to jazz fusion, John Mclaughlin, Allan Holdsworth, etc. But then I got a hold of this CD, and my whole perspective on Jazz changed. This is the most mellow and beautiful jazz CD I have ever heard. At first I thought I knew alot about jazz, but then listening to this really blew my head off.
My favorite song is "Before you go"

Along with the Clash, this Manchester UK group was one of the first Punk Rock groups to appear in the wake of the Sex Pistols. This digitally remastered, budget-priced, 18-song collection of singles b-sides, and album cuts is designed to introduce the Pop/Punk group to a new generation of listeners. Given the consistent brilliance of the Buzzcocks during their first golden era (1976-1980), you'd have to work pretty hard to compile an hour's worth of their music that isn't a kick to listen to, and sure enough, Buzzcocks Finest: Ever Fall in Love? offers 63 minutes of chainsaw guitars, irresistible hooks, and Pete Shelley's angst-ridden tales of love ...
