While it's tough to follow up a classic, VAN HALEN II comes close to matching the brilliance of the band's debut. Once again, the record begins with a fat bass line from Michael Anthony, and his piercing background vocals are featured on "You're No Good," an explosive cover of the Linda Ronstadt tune.
While the group's early material was slightly too heavy for Top 40 airplay, here they take a commercial stab with the brilliant "Dance the Night Away" and "Beautiful Girls." "Somebody Get Me a Doctor" features the trademark wails of David Lee Roth, and Eddie Van Halen's magical soloing. Alex Van Halen's playing takes a slightly complex turn on "Outta Love Again" with some funky drum fills. Eddie shows his versatility with the gorgeous, flamenco-styled solo "Spanish Fly." The band kicks it full throttle once again on "D.O.A.," which accelerates to a mighty finish. "Women in Love" features lessons from Mr. Roth on dealing with female fickleness. VAN HALEN II would go on to be a huge success, reaching the U.S. Top 10. This remastered album leaves the band sounding better than ever.
All tracks have been digitally remastered.

are thinking? VH - VHII and Fair Warning are the best that they have ever done and honestly, VHII can be put up against anything any other band has done and it will blow them away.

classic
this to me is by far there best album, light up the sky is just incredible, somebody get me a doctor, d.o.a, women in love, beautiful girls. this is when eddie got to sound more like the way he wanted, spanish fly is just amazing to, all these songs are great party tunes, grab some beers and get some girls because its party time,

D.O.A. is one of the hottest rock songs ever!!! This album is the natural follow up to the debut! I always get mixed up because I think DOA is on THAT album....anyway, VH is THE band!!!

One of the best albums to come out of those otherwise WHIMPY years!!! "D.O.A" is MASSIVE and the other songs KO many a rock album!! Congrats, my Italian girlfriend has literally fallen in love with you guys and the album!!

A difficult task to follow up the critically acclaimed VHI....but they did it.
EVH's incredible guitar work, Roth's almost audible swagger and the pounding rythym section of Alex and Mike - a classic album!!
Went downhill a little after this, until the classic '1984'.
